Korn's Check-Raise Gets the Job Done

Valentino Konakchiev opened to 525,000 from under the gun holding A♥10♦ and found a call from Andres Korn in the big blind holding the K♣5♣.

The flop came 6♥Q♣5♦ and Korn started with a check. Konakchiev continued with a bet of 475,000 which was met with a check-raise from Korn to 1,125,000.

With action back on him, Konakchiev decided not to commit anymore chips to this hand and tossed his cards toward the muck.

He also had a hand.

The action folded to Ahuja on the button and he looked down at 8♥8♦. Ahuja then raised to 3,700,000, leaving 325,000 behind.

The player in the small blind folded, leaving Girish Reknar to act. Reknar held A♥3♥ and appeared to agonize over the decision. He went in the tank, rubbing his hands together, and looking down at his chips.

Reknar eventually folded and revealed A♥ to the table.

Costa Finds Double Up

Ankit Ahuja raised with A♦5♦ in early position to 500,000, and was called by Ruben Costa, who was in the big blind with Q♦10♦.

The flop ran out 10♠5♣10♣. Both players got a piece of it, but Costa got the large part.

Costa checked, prompting Ahuja to bet 450,000. Costa then check-raised to 1,050,000 and Ahuja went all in, which covered his opponent. Costa snap-called with trip 10s.

The dealer placed 8♣ on the turn and Q♣ on the river, giving Costa a double up on a 7,272,000 pot and leaving Ahuja on fumes.

Reard Squeezes in Big Blind

WSOP bracelet winner Alexandre Reard apparently sensed weakness and used it to his advantage.

Girish Reknar limped under the gun with J♥10♥ and action folded to Ankit Ahuja, who also limped in the small blind with 8♦4♦.

Reard, though, looked down at A♣9♦ and raised the action to 1,100,000 million. Reknar went in the tank, looking at his cards and stack for a few moments, and then folded. Ahuja also folded.
