Day 2 of Event #12: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout of the 2023 World Series of Poker at the Horseshoe and Paris Las Vegas has come to an end with Jeremy Eyer emerging on top after bagging 4,420,000 in chips. Not far behind him is Felipe Ramos (4,155,000). Rounding out the top three is Ronald Minnis (3,215,000).

Eyer will be looking to add to his already impressive live-tournament earnings, which exceed $800,000. Eyer already has a WSOP circuit ring, but a win in this event would be Eyer's first WSOP gold bracelet.

Also in the hunt is bracelet winner Jesse Lonis (2,335,000) and two-time bracelet winner Yuval Bronshtein (1,355,000). Bronshtein is coming hot off a ninth-place finish in Event #6: $5,000 Mixed No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha just a few days ago and will be looking to add to his stellar poker resume.

Christina Gollins (2,965,000) is also in contention and will be looking to best her third-place finish in the Ladies Championship from last years WSOP.

Jinho Hong, a former StarCraft player, will also have his eyes set on a second WSOP bracelet. Last year, Hong won the Poker Hall of Fame Bounty event for a cool $276,067.

Day 2 began with 148 players and the eliminations came fast and furious from the start. Some notables who started on Day 2 but fell short of the money include Andre Akkari, Robbi Jade Lew, Dan Smith, Brian Yoon, Dario Sammartino, and Cherish Andrews, who ended up being the unfortunate "bubble girl" after losing to a runner-runner straight versus Shiva Dudani.

Other notables who held on to cash include Ryan Riess (106th - $8,011), Nick Pupillo (102nd - $8,011), Steven Buckner (95th - $8,011), Espen Jorstad (63rd - $10,952), Jeremy Becker (54th - $12,187), Josh Arieh (39th - $15,873), and defending champion Mohammad Arani (41st - $13,793).

The final 16 players will return on June 6 at 2:00 p.m. local time and play down to an eventual winner. The players return to Level 26, so the blinds are 40,000/80,000 with an 80,000 big blind ante. Be sure to stick with PokerNews as we continue to bring you the action in Event #12: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em Freezeout, leading to the newest WSOP bracelet winner.

Zachary Grech opened to 120,000 in the hijack, and Christina Gollins three-bet to 400,000 on the button. Action folded back to Grech, who tanked before committing the rest of his chips for slightly over Gollins' three-bet.
