In a heads-up pot with 36,000 in the middle on a flop showing A♣9♦4♠, Boris Kolev checked from the small blind to Randall Emmett in the big blind who bet out 12,000. Kolev tossed in chips for the call and the pair saw the A♦ turn.
Kolev checked a second time and Emmett tapped the table to check back. On the J♠ river Kolev checked again and Randall slid out a bet of 30,000. Kolev pondered for a few moments, but eventually made the fold and the pot was sent to Emmett.
"Why couldn't you just call me there?" said Emmett to Kolev as he stacked his chips.
