D'Ambrosio Pulls Off "Sickest Bluff of the Tournament"

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Jimmy D'Ambrosio
Jimmy D'Ambrosio

There was an early position open and four players called to go five ways to a {a-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Spades} flop.

Action checked through to the {7-Hearts} turn and checked again to Richard Malone, who bet 16,000.

Jimmy D'Ambrosio then raised it up to 39,000 from the big blind and Malone called.

The river brought the {j-Hearts} and D'Ambrosio shoved all in, enough to cover Malone's remaining 110,000.

After some time in the tank, Malone folded.

D'Ambrosio turned over {9-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for a stone-cold bluff, much to the amusement of the table.

"Sometimes you gotta bully with the nine-high," said D'Ambrosio.

Jaka For All of It

Nível 16 : 3,000/6,000, 6,000 ante
Faraz Jaka
Faraz Jaka

Faraz Jaka pushed for 141,000 from the big blind for his entire stack, and one player wanted to see his holdings from the button. Jaka's opponent had him covered.

Faraz Jaka: {a-Spades}{5-Diamonds}
Button: {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}

There was an ace in the window, but the flop was meant for Jaka as it came {a-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}, giving him two pair over the button's top pair.

The turn {j-Clubs} didn't hurt Jaka, nor did the {2-Hearts} river.

Jaka cooly collected his pot, barely cracking a smile as onlookers commented on the weaker ace winning.

Navarro Hits Every King In the Deck

Nível 15 : 3,000/5,000, 5,000 ante
Mario Navarro
Mario Navarro

Mario Navarro bet 14,000 in the cutoff, and the button raised all in over the top for 98,000.

Several players were between the two, and a few minutes went by before Navarro had a chance to act.

After a player in the big blind made a fold that looked like it hurt him, Navarro called the raise from the button, and the cards were tabled. Navarro had him covered.

Button: {a-Hearts}{6-Hearts}
Mario Navarro: {a-Clubs}{k-Hearts}

Navarro was ahead, and the flop of {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} only made it better. The button needed running hearts that didn't pair the board to best Navarro's three of a kind.

A player not in the hand was asking for hearts to make it interesting, but Navarro paid him zero attention.

It would be the {k-Clubs} to make Navarro quads, and ending any hope of runner-runner for the button to pull ahead. The {q-Spades} completed the board and made it official.

Navarro became one of the biggest stacks in the room, and people continued to talk about the hand at the surrounding tables while he counted his new chips.

Action was picked up with a board of {9-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{2-Spades}, and Johan Schumacher bet 40,000 into a pot of 55,000.

Walter Fisher was the only other player in the hand, and he took some time deciding on what to do with such a wet board and a large bet from Schumacher.

Fisher called and showed {k-Spades}{q-Diamonds} for top two pair, but Schumacher's hand was {10-Hearts}{5-Spades} for a turned king-high straight.

Schumacher's stack grew, but Fisher still had plenty of chips to keep the tournament battle going.

Bracelet Winners Battle

Nível 13 : 2,000/3,000, 3,000 ante
Adrian Mateos
Adrian Mateos

From the button Adrian Mateos bet 21,000 and only Daniel Lazrus called from late position.

The flop came {5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{10-Spades} and Lazrus checked to Mateos who bet 16,000, and Lazrus called again.

After the {7-Spades} turn was checked by Lazrus, Mateos carefully eyed his opponent's stack, and let 45,000 fall over the button. Lazrus shuffled his chips for a moment, and called to see the last card.

With a river {j-Diamonds} 2x WSOP bracelet winner Lazrus checked with one finger to the continually aggressive, 4x WSOP bracelet winner, and Mateos threw out 125,000. It was a bet big enough to put Lazrus all in.

Lazrus folded by tapping his cards with his palm, and pushing them in the middle.

Raj Vohra
Raj Vohra

Recently crowned WSOP bracelet winner Raj Vohra is back in play and the table recounted how he got a double up.

On a {9-}{j-}{9-} flop, Vohra bet 10,000 and Jimmy D'Ambrosio called. The turn was a {2-} and Vohra shoved for 27,000. D'Ambrosio called and Vohra was at risk.

Raj Vohra: {6-}{6-}
Jimmy D'Ambrosio: {7-}{7-}

D'Ambrosio had Vohra dead to rights, but that run good from Vohra's latest victory kicked in as he drilled a {6-} on the river to double with a full house.

Nitis Udornpim
Nitis Udornpim

Action was picked up on the completed board of {7-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{j-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}, and Shannon Shorr was all in for his remaining 35,000 against Nitis Udornpim.

Udornpim called, and was holding {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts} for the flopped straight.

Shorr however, had turned a set and filled up on the river with {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}. After they showed their hands, players from surrounding tables gathered for some of the best table talk from Udornpim.

"You're so good at poker!", exclaimed Udornpim. "It's so miserable! He always beats me, it's always Shannon!"

Both Udornpim and Shorr were laughing, as were many other players.

"Life's not real...", said Udornpim. "Nice hand, Shannon".
