Engel Getting Short

On a flop of {k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}, the big blind checked to Ari Engel and he put in a bet of 1,800. Mark Liedtke called on the button and the big blind folded.

When the {q-Spades} hit the turn Engel check-called a bet of 4,000.

The {8-Diamonds} landed on the river and Engel checked to Liedtke and he put in a bed of 6,500. Engel took a few moments eying up his own stack and eventually decided to let the hand go and leave himself with 12,000 chips.

Semaska Forces a Fold

On a flop showing {2-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Diamonds} with around 9,000 in the middle, [Removed:464] checked in the cutoff and the button bet 3,000. Semaska tanked for a minute and raised it to 8,200. His opponent called.

The turn fell the {q-Hearts} and Semaska sent 17,500 in the middle. His opponent tanked and eventually folded.

Ruane Eliminated During Last Level of the Night

Michael Ruane, who finished fouth in the 2016 Main Event, and tenth in 2017, won't be making another deep run this year because he's been eliminated with less than 20 minutes left in the day.

Ruane had been nursing a short stack for a lot of the day and finally moved all-in preflop for his last 20,400. He was called by Joshua Remitio, and the duo were off to the races.

The {7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} flop was safe for Ruane, but the turn brought the {2-Diamonds}, giving Remitio a flush draw, which came home on the river with the {8-Diamonds}, to eliminate Ruane.

MacIntyre Doubles His Short Stack

Brian Yee limped and Fraser MacIntyre then jammed for just 6,700 in the hijack. William Akins called in the big blind and Yee folded, claiming in table chat he had pocket sixes.

The board ran out {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Hearts}{q-Diamonds}{8-Spades} and MacIntyre doubled with trips queens.

"The first table has been dull and nobody talked but this one is fun," MacIntyre had mentioned earlier. And the Scotsman sure knows how to create some friendly atmosphere to go with it even if he has a short stack.

The initial raiser check-called a 1,500 bet from Petrangelo on the {7-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{q-Hearts} flop but folded facing a 2,500 bet from Petrangelo on the {q-Spades} turn.

Keeline Has to Shut It Down

Ben Keeline raised on the button and got called by the small blind to see a {3-Clubs}{5-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop.

After the small blind checked, Keeline fired out a quick bet of 2,000 which the small blind called.

On the {k-Hearts} turn, after another check, Keeline continued the aggression with a bet of 5,000. Again, the small blind called.

The small blind checked once more on the {q-Clubs} river, and this time Keeline opted to shut down and check back.

The small blind showed {9-Spades}{9-Diamonds}, and Keeline tossed his cards into the muck, taking a small hit near the end of what's been a successful day thus far.

McClelland Grabs Chips Back

A first player limped, followed by Vlada Stojanović and the small blind. Jack McClelland decided to raise it to 2,500 and only the initial limper called.

The flop revealed {9-Spades}{10-Spades}{7-Clubs} and McClelland continued for 2,200. His opponent didn't take long to fold his hand.

Gonzalez Wins at Showdown

In a three-way pot and on the turn the board read {k-Spades}{10-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} and the player first to act checked to Drew Gonzalez who put in a bet of 1,200. The player in position made the call and the third player folded.

The river was the {2-Spades} and both players quickly checked. Gonzalez tabled {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} to scoop the pot when his opponent tabled {a-Spades}{3-Spades}.
