Chris Hunichen Bursts Bubble

Nível 15 : 2,500/5,000, 0 ante
Bubble elimination
Bubble elimination

"Y0UWILLLOSE" opened for 12,500 second to act and Chris Hunichen potted on his left. Y0UWILLLOSE repotted to 138,000 and Hunichen called. Y0UWILLLOSE jammed 64,804 on the {k-Hearts}{3-Clubs}{j-Spades} flop and Hunichen called.

Y0UWILLLOSE: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{k-Clubs}{5-Clubs}
Hunichen: {q-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts}

Hunichen was drawing and picked up a pair on the {10-Spades} turn. The {8-Diamonds} river gave him two pair to bust Y0UWILLLOSE on a bad beat and break the bubble.

Reixach Busted Near Bubble

Nível 14 : 2,000/4,000, 0 ante
Sergi Reixach
Sergi Reixach

With the bubble looming, Sergi Reixach potted for 14,000 and four-bet all in for about 60,000 when the small blind repopped him. Reixach and his opponent each played ace-queen preflop with the former holding {a-Spades}{q-Spades}{5-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and the latter {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{9-Hearts}.

The board ran {7-Diamonds}{10-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Clubs}{j-Spades}, eliminating Reixach just before the bubble.

A few more entries fired at the last second, and in total, 971 were logged. That means a prize pool of 971,000, with half of that coming to bounty hunters who score knockouts.

A total of 134 players will be paid, with the bracelet winner collecting $79,896 plus a heap of bounty money. A min-cash in 134th will be worth $1,196. Check the "Payout" tab for full prize information shortly.

Jattin on the Rise

Nível 10 : 800/1,600, 0 ante
Farid Jattin
Farid Jattin

Farid Jattin's second shell is going very well as he's up to almost 200,000 after a recent knockout. Michael Drummond opened for 3,600 in the cutoff, Jattin made it 11,800 in the big blind, and Drummond came back with 34,800. Jattin called and put the last crumbs in on {j-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Diamonds}.

Jattin: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}{k-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Drummond: {a-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}{k-Hearts}{4-Hearts}

Jattin was a mile ahead but did have to sweat the river when the {5-Spades} turned. It was a harmless {2-Clubs} that arrived though.

WSOP Legend: 10-Time Bracelet Winner Phil Ivey

Nível 8 : 500/1,000, 0 ante
Phil Ivey
Phil Ivey

Few poker players have captured the attention of the poker universe quite like Phil Ivey. There have been plenty of champions of the game who crushed it at the felt, but none who built up the mystique of Ivey, who remains to this day arguably the most magnetic player in poker despite results that no longer match his days of utmost dominance.

A day after the anniversary of Ivey's induction into the Poker Hall of Fame, PokerNews examines the legacy of his WSOP success.

Ivey Takes WSOP By Storm

Prior to 2000, Ivey didn't have any recorded WSOP cashes.

The 23-year-old didn't waste any time establishing himself as one of the top up-and-coming players. That year, after already making one final table and finishing fifth, Ivey secured his first bracelet. He beat none other than fellow Hall of Famer Amarillo Slim Preston heads up to win Event #14: $2,500 Pot-Limit Omaha, a rebuy event, for his first bracelet and $195,000. Three other Hall of Famers — Chris Bjorin, Phil Hellmuth and David "Devilfish" Ulliott — also competed at that final table, so shipping it was about more than just getting his first taste of gold. Ivey showed he could beat the best in the business.

Two years after that, though, would be when Ivey really showed he was the present and future of the game.

De Souza's Kings Hold

"Holidaywer" raised to 2,100 second to act, Belarmino "Iseey0urcard" De Souza reraised pot to 7,200 in the next seat, and "zzzumbaaa" called in the big blind. Holidaywer potted to 29,100, De Souza shoved with a covering stack and zzzumbaaa called all in for just over 60,000. Holidaywer did likewise for about 50,000.

Holidaywer: {7-Hearts}{5-Spades}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
De Souza: {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{j-Hearts}{k-Spades}
zzzumbaaa: {q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}

The board ran {a-Diamonds}{4-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Hearts}{4-Clubs}, so fours full of kings took it for De Souza after Holidaywer turned a wheel.

Welcome to Event #37: $1,050 Bounty Pot Limit Omaha

Omaha poker
Omaha poker

The World Series of Poker on GGNetwork continues today with Event #37: $1,050 Bounty Pot Limit Omaha.

This is the second Omaha event on the schedule. The first was won by Finnish legend Juha Helppi. That drew 328 runners for a $5,000 price point. Event #37 currently has about 125 players registered with start time still about 40 minutes away and three hours of late registration on tap.

As far as logistics go, this will be a one-day tournament with six-handed tables, a staple of PLO on GGNetwork. Players start with 25,000 in their stacks at 125/250 and progress through 15-minute levels, with a break at five till the hour, every hour. Each player may reenter up to twice should he or she run dry on chips.

Perhaps of most import, play will be in the progressive knockout (PKO) format. Half of each buy-in goes to the bounty pool, and half of that bounty is awarded to the eliminating player, with the other half being added to that player's bounty. Therefore, some pretty hefty sums are available even for players who don't make the top few prize slots, should they score enough eliminations of high-value bounties.

Virtual cards begin flying at 1 p.m. EDT. Players registered for the event already include Felipe Ramos, Pete Chen, Dario Alioto, George Wolff, Joao Vieira, Martin Zamani, Manig Loeser and Chris Hunichen. Surely, many more well-known players will take their cracks at the bracelet as well, so stay tuned to PokerNews to follow the updates.
