Event #64: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold'em
Dia 1a Iniciado
Welcome to Day 1a, the first of four starting flights, of Event 64: $888 Crazy Eights No-Limit Hold’em. As one of the more unique tournaments on the World Series schedule, it’s all about the eights. In addition to the $888 buy-in, the winner will receive $888,888 in prize money and tables are played 8-handed.
In 2018, Galen Hall outlasted 8,597 entrants to take home the $888,888 in cash, the second largest of his tournament career, and his first WSOP gold bracelet.
Players taking their seats will start with 40,000 in chips, a substantial increase over last year’s starting stack of 8,000 chips and are allowed unlimited re-entries through the close of registration. The schedule for Day 1a will consist of 19 levels at 30 minutes each, with a 20-minute break after every four levels of play. There will be a 75-minute dinner break after the 12th level, which is also when registration will close (approximately 5:55 p.m.). Those players lucky enough to find a bag at the end of play will return on Monday, July 1st at noon local time.

Play kicks off at 10 a.m. local time, and if the number of entrants from last year’s tournament and the big numbers that the No-Limit tournaments have put up so far during the 2019 World Series are any indication, this event is going to be another huge one. The PokerNews team will be on hand to report all the action from when the first card is dealt until the last card hits the felt.

The dealers have been told to shuffle up and deal, so Day 1a is officially underway.
It's an early start time, so players are slowly filing in, but some notables were spotted early in the field. Daniel Allen is seated at table 8 seat 8.

The under-the-gun player raised it to 600, and was called by the player in the next seat over. The middle position player then three-bet to 2,500, which was called by Charles Sewell in the small blind. The big-blind player then four-bet to 6,700 and only Sewell made the call.
Sewell led out for 6,000 on the flop and the big-blind player made the call. Sewell then continued his aggression with a bet of 12,000 on the turn, which got a fold from the big-blind player. Sewell then flashed the and said that he didn't really want to show the other card. After the big-blind player admitted he folded queens, Sewell revealed that he had king-deuce, which is why he led out on the flop.

Preflop action folded around to the player on the button and he raised it to 500. The small-blind player made the call and Maxime Broyer came along from his big blind.
After Broyer check-called the 800 continuation bet from the button-player on the flop, both players then checked through the turn and river. Broyer tabled and took down the pot, which made the other player say that he missed a bet.
