River Bet From Do Gets Fold

Nível 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

With a pot of about 40,000 in chips, the board read {7-Hearts}{9-Diamonds}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs}{8-Diamonds}. Seat 1 checked over to Krystal Do who quickly put out a bet of 26,000. Her opponent immediately shook his head and went into the tank.

While Seat 1 was considering the bet, a player from an adjacent table who was not aware Seat 1 was in the middle of a decision came over to let him know that his wallet had fallen to the ground. After being momentarily distracted, Seat 1 turned back to the action but quickly folded after his concentration had been broken.

"Good bet," he said to Do, as she collected a decent size pot.

Palmer Runs Kings into Quads, Says It's "Nothing Too Serious"

Nível 2 : 100/300, 300 ante

Sanguine Brit Tim Palmer has taken an early loss with pocket kings, but managed to limit the damage inflicted by Ronald Czyzynski and still has over 40,000 in chips. He told us he saw a flop of {3-}{3-}{3-} and the hit to his stack was inevitable, but compared to some of the early action seen in the Brasilia room, this was positively tame.

Elsewhere, British and Irish players pepper the field, with Jeff Kimber, Katie Swift, Andy Hills, Gediminas Aleksandravicius, Yuriy Boyko and Mick McCloskey all taking part in Day 1d.

Gagliano Flushes Player Out

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante
Michael Gagliano
Michael Gagliano

WSOP bracelet winner Michael Gagliano was spotted in the Pavilion Room and was immediately involved in big action.

In a pot of about 26,000, Gagliano was first to act and bet 16,000 on a board that read {6-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{6-Hearts}. His opponent thought for well over a minute before moving all in.

Gagliano snapped called and gave his opponent the bad news as he turned over the nut flush with the {a-Hearts}{j-Hearts}. His opponent showed {k-}{k-} and got up to walk away from the table when he saw that he was covered by Gagliano.

Plastik Fantastic

Nível 3 : 200/400, 400 ante

David Plastik’s stack has just broken the six-figure mark after a bumper three-way hand. Plastik opened preflop to 1,000 in mid position, Tony Pham three-bet to 3,000 and both big blind Ryan Pinkerton and Plastik made the call.

On a flop of {8-Hearts}{5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} Pinkerton and Plastik checked, Pham bet 5,000 and set off some fireworks. First Pinkerton check-raised to 10,000, then Plastik threw in 25,000. Pham was abruptly no longer interested but it took a good while for Pinkerton to make the call, leaving himself 38,000 behind.

Almost as soon as the {a-Spades} appeared on the turn, Plastik announced “all in” for a few thousand more – the trouble was he wasn’t first to act. This was accepted, however, with good grace and after another think his opponent folded.

King on Turn "Sochs" Aces

Nível 4 : 300/600, 600 ante

The board read {2-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades} and Jamin Soch was facing an all in bet from his opponent. After thinking it over for a few moments, Soch put in the call. The at risk player in Seat 7 turned over the {a-Spades}{a-Hearts} . Soch frowned in disgust and showed the {k-Clubs}{k-Hearts}.

"Wow" exclaimed a player at the table. But the true wow came on the turn when the {k-Spades} hit to suddenly vault Soch's hand into the lead. The river was a harmless {7-Hearts} to confirm the bust out of Seat 7 and give Soch a fortuitous pot.

Seat 7 was a good sport and stood up to graciously shake Soch's hand before leaving the table, while Soch kept repeating "Oh my God" and sighing with of relief.

Kustafik's Aces Holding Today

Nível 4 : 300/600, 600 ante
Matthew Kustafik
Matthew Kustafik

On a flop of {10-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}{3-Spades}, Matthew Kustafik faced a check-raise from the small blind, from 9,500 to 30,000. This effectively committed his opponent’s stack to the pot, and Kustafik thought for a while before taking the plunge with {a-Hearts}{a-Diamonds}. He covered his opponent, who tabled {j-Spades}{k-Diamonds}, and made a higher flush (the board ran out {8-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}).

“They held up for once!” said Kustafik, echoing a feeling many players have expressed at the felt.

“You’re good with your aces,” countered a tablemate, “They’re the second aces for you.”
