Triple Up for Gerecke

Nível 23 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Mark Gerecke was all in for his last 230,000, facing off against two players. One of them was Peter Eichhardt who had both of his rivals covered as the second shortest stack had 250,000 total. Gerecke showed {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} and needed to prevail against {J-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Eichhardt's {K-Hearts}{J-Spades}.

The flop of {7-Spades}{8-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} pushed him closer to the triple and Gerecke shouted, "Yes!" when he saw the seven hit the felt.

The remaining runout of {4-Hearts} and {6-Clubs} confirmed Gerecke's victory while Eichhardt was downed to 325,000.

Double Elimination Boosts Shevelev

Nível 24 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

There was a four-way all in between Dmitri Shevelev, two short stacks and a bigger stack. Shevelev was all in for over a million with {k-Hearts}{k-Diamonds} against {9-Hearts}{9-Diamonds} from the other big stack, and {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts} and {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}.

The flop came {7-Hearts}{8-Clubs}{3-Clubs}. The turn {10-Diamonds} gave Shevelev's opponent an open-ended straight draw. But the river {5-Hearts} was a brick and Shevelev more than doubled up, whilst sending two players to the rail.

Lopez Wins a Blind-versus-Blind Clash

Nível 24 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

Emmanuel Lopez was in the small blind, pushing all in when we arrived at the table. He had 1,115,000 total and Nipun Java had a few big blinds more. Java tanked for a bit and eventually made the call.

Lopez: {A-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}
Java: {K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}

Lopez was slightly ahead but Java's outs were live. The {Q-Hearts}{A-Spades}{3-Spades} flop, however, slimmed his chances to a gutter or running trips. He would be drawing dead on the turn, instead, as the {A-Clubs} gave Lopez a boat and the {Q-Diamonds} river made things official.

Java continued with fewer than five bigs and busted shortly afterwards.

Friedman Shows the Ace of Spades

Nível 24 : 30,000/60,000, 10,000 ante

We picked up the action on the river reading {2-Clubs}{K-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{7-Spades} with almost 2 million already in the middle of the table. Sandy Friedman was in early position, pushing all in for his last 695,000.

The action was on Thai Ha, who was on the button with roughly 2.5 million left. Ha studied the board and then started his investigation.

"What do you think I have?" he asked.

"Doesn't matter," Friedman replied.

Ha then released his hand and Friedman raked in the juicy pot.

"Show the bluff!" Ha still tried to get some information.

Friedman peeled one of his cards and turned up the {A-Spades}.
