Bach Three-Bets Sixth

Nível 3

Razz

David Bach fired a bet on sixth street with a seven-six-four showing, slightly better than his opponent's seven-six-five. His opponent elected to raise, and Bach came back with three bets. Bach's opponent called, and the dealer tossed out the last cards. Bach once again bet, and his opponent called.

Bach: {a-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{k-Diamonds}/{7-Clubs}{4-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{6-Hearts}
Opponent: {x-}{x-}{x-}/{5-Clubs}{q-Spades}{6-Spades}{7-Diamonds}

Bach's hand was good, and we didn't catch his opponent's cards before he tossed them to the dealer.

"I Was Trying to Raise the Turn"

Nível 3

No Limit Hold'em

We happened upon Table 101 with around 1,400 in the pot and a flop of {5-Spades}{10-Hearts}{8-Spades}. Eric Crain was in the hijack and ended up check-calling a bet of 725 from the player in the cutoff. After the dealer burned and turned the {2-Diamonds}, Crain checked and the cutoff bet 1,375.

Crain then splashed out some chips in an attempt to raise, but it wasn't enough to constitute a legal one. Instead it was counted as a call and the {A-Clubs} was put out on the river. Crain checked for a third time and watched his opponent bet 2,350.

"I was trying to raise the turn," Crain explained before calling and tabling the {A-Diamonds}{Q-Clubs} for a pair of aces. His opponent seemed a bit disgusted before mucking his cards.

One for the Defending Champ

Nível 3

Stud

Last year David "ODB" Baker won his first bracelet in this very event after defeating Greg "FBT" Mueller in an epic heads-up battle. Baker is back in action and looking to defend his title.

We happened upon his table just in time to see him raking in a sizable Stud pot. We're not sure of the order of the cards as they'd been jumbled, but his board read {a-Clubs}{j-Clubs}{9-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}. The flush was good for the "Original David Baker" and he was pushed the pot.

During the hand and continuing after, Baker was engaged in a serious conversation about Chinese Poker with his tablemates Matt Glantz and Rob Salaburu. Unfortunately for them, Chinese isn't a part of the Eight-Game Mix.

Zolotow Scoops One

Nível 3

Stud Eight or Better

Steve Zolotow was betting into an anguished opponent in a large pot on sixth street. Zolotow had a dangerous four-five-six-seven board, while his opponent had a pair of jacks showing. The opponent called despite Zolotow advising him that there was no shame in folding. Zolotow fired once again on seventh street, and his opponent made what appeared to be a reluctant call.

Zolotow: {a-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{5-Hearts}/{4-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}
Opponent: {7-}{8-}{k-}/{j-Spades}{j-Clubs}{8-Clubs}{2-Hearts}

"The Bald Eagle" is now back to the starting stack after his straight and low scooped the pot.
