Brennan Doubles Again

Nível 26 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Rory Rees Brennan
Rory Rees Brennan

Hand #68: James Wiese raised to 125,000, and received no callers.

Hand #69: Tom Marchese raised to 100,000 in middle position, and won the pot.

Hand #70: Numit Agrawal raised to 175,000 on the button, and both blinds released.

Hand #71: Wiese raised to 125,000 in early position, Rory Rees Brennan moved all in for 345,000 on the button, and Wiese called.

Wiese: {a-Hearts}{q-Spades}{10-Hearts}{5-Spades}
Brennan: {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}

The dealer spread {2-Spades}{4-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, which was an awful flop for Brennan. The Irishman stood up, shrugging defeatedly. The turn was the {a-Clubs}, giving him a few outs to catch up, and the {5-Diamonds} on the river was one of them, giving him the wheel.

The Irish in the rail cheered loudly, as Brennan retook his seat.

Alaei Doubles Through Bleznick, Assumes Lead

Nível 26 : 25,000/50,000, 0 ante
Daniel Alaei
Daniel Alaei

Hand #67: Daniel Alaei raised to 115,000 from middle position, then Jared Bleznick reraised to 350,000 from one seat over. It folded back around to Alaei who called the raise, then the flop came {9-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{J-Hearts}. Alaei promptly bet 775,000, leaving himself about 300,000 behind. Bleznick raised, and Alaei called.

Alaei: {A-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Bleznick: {A-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Bleznick had the lead with his kings, but the {3-Spades} fell on the turn to give Alaei more ways to overtake him. A standing Bleznick leaned over and grabbed Alaei's shoulders, saying "good luck." The river then brought the {6-Spades} to complete Alaei's flush, and though disappointed Bleznick nonetheless shook Alaei's hand as he went from near-elimination to the chip lead.

Alex Kravchenko Eliminated in 9th Place ($67,742)

Nível 25 : 20,000/40,000, 0 ante
Alex Kravchenko - 9th Place
Alex Kravchenko - 9th Place

Hand #31: Rory Rees Brennan opened with a pot-sized raise to 140,000 from the hijack seat and won the blinds.

Hand #32: Brennan again raised to 140,000 and won the blinds.

Hand #33: Jared Bleznick raised to 95,000 from the cutoff seat and only Alex Kravchenko called from the big blind. Both checked the {9-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} flop. The {2-Diamonds} fell on the turn, and after Kravchenko checked, Bleznick bet 135,000 and Kravchenko got out.

Hand #34: James Wiese raised to 100,000 from the button, and Alex Kravchenko promptly reraised all in for about 300,000 from the small blind. Sean Dempsey then repotted from the big blind, forcing a fold from Weise.

Kravchenko: {A-Diamonds}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{3-Spades}
Dempsey: {A-Spades}{k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}{7-Spades}

Both were double-suited with the same suits, then the {5-Spades}{4-Clubs}{6-Clubs} flop connected best with Dempsey's hand, giving him an eight-high straight. Neither the {6-Diamonds} turn nor the {5-Diamonds} river helped Kravchenko, and he was eliminated in ninth.

Hand #5: Daniel Alaei raised to 65,000 in the cutoff, Jared Bleznick called on his direct left, and the flop fell {5-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{k-Spades}. Alaei checked, Bleznick bet 65,000, and Alaei called. The turn was the {10-Hearts}, Alaei checked again, and Bleznick checked behind. The {10-Spades} completed the board, Alaei fired out 265,000, and Bleznick folded.

Hand #6: Rory Rees Brennan raised to 65,000 in middle position, winning the pot uncontested.

Hand #7: Alaei raised to 70,000 in early position, Alex Kravchenko called out of the small blind, and the fop came {10-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{3-Clubs}. Kravchenko checked, Alaei continued for 100,000, and Kravchenko folded.

Hand #8: Sean Dempsey raised the pot out of the small blind, Gjergj Sinishtaj re-raised to 230,000 out of the small blind, and Dempsey moved all in for 315,000. Sinishtaj called.

Dempsey: {a-Spades}{k-Clubs}{q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}
Sinishtaj: {j-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{6-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}

Dempsey doubled as the board ran out {q-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}{a-Hearts}{7-Spades}{a-Clubs}, giving him a full house, and he now has 630,000 chips. Sinishtaj slipped to 1.56 million.

Huge Double for Sinishtaj

Nível 23 : 12,000/24,000, 0 ante
Gjergj Sinishtaj
Gjergj Sinishtaj

Gjergj Sinishtaj opened to 52,000 from under the gun, and the action folded all the way to Oleksii Kovalchuk, who called in the big blind. The dealer fanned {7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Kovalchuk check-called a bet of 55,000, and the turn brought the {6-Clubs}. Kovalchuk checked again, Sinishtaj tossed out 127,000, and Kovalchuk raised the pot (480,000). Sinishtaj moved all in for 536,000, and Kovalchuk called.

Sinishtaj: {9-Hearts}{8-Spades}{7-Hearts}{6-Spades}
Kovalchuk: {a-Spades}{a-Clubs}{6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}

Both players had full houses, but Sinishtaj's was higher, and a meaningless {j-} bricked off on the river. Sinishtaj doubled to nearly 1.3 million, while Kovalchuk slipped to 360,000.

Alexey Rybin Eliminated in 13th Place ($41,472)

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Alexey Rybin - 13th Place
Alexey Rybin - 13th Place

Alexey Rybin began the day as the chip leader with 32 players left. But after both Daniel Alaei and then Jared Bleznick roared past him into the chip lead, the Russian saw his stack gradually decline until the last hand of Level 22 saw him all in and at risk.

The hand started with a hijack raise by Alaei to 50,000, then Rybin made it 180,000 to go from the cutoff seat. It folded back around to Alaei who thought for about 15 seconds then called, and the pair together watched the flop come {A-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}{J-Spades}.

At that Alaei set out a stack of chips to bet, Rybin pushed, and Alaei called quickly.

Rybin had {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{9-Spades} for pair of aces and a gutshot draw, while Alaei had {K-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{4-Clubs} for jacks and various backdoor possibilities. The turn was the {K-Hearts} and river the {2-Clubs}, giving Alaei two pair and the best hand and ending Rybin's day in 13th place.

Nível 22 : 10,000/20,000, 0 ante
Michael Schwartz - 14th Place
Michael Schwartz - 14th Place

We're unsure as to whether or not Michael Schwartz and Daniel Alaei got all of the chips in the middle preflop or on the flop, but when we arrived the hands looked like this:

Schwartz: {a-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{7-Spades}
Alaei: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}{j-Clubs}{3-Spades}

The flop was {9-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{k-Clubs}, giving Alaei a set of kings, and the turn and river came {j-Diamonds}, {9-Spades} respectively. Alaei made a full house, securing the knockout and bringing Alaei back up to over two million chips. A few hands prior, he doubled Gjergj Sinishtaj when Sinishtaj had turned a flush.

Schwartz was eliminated in 14th place, earning $41,472.
