Dean Busts Habib

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
Hasan Habib - Eliminated
Hasan Habib - Eliminated

We arrived at the table just in time to see the cards turned over on Hasan Habib's final hand in the tournament. Habib was all in for his last roughly 56,000 against Andrew Dean before the flop.

Habib: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}
Dean: {A-Hearts}{Q-Diamonds}

Dean jumped out into the lead when the flop paired his ace on {7-Hearts}{A-Diamonds}{3-Hearts}. Dean made two pair when the {Q-Spades} struck the felt on fourth street and Habib could not catch up once the {K-Spades} completed the board. Habib was sent packing and Dean stacked up chips to bring his stack to 390,000.

The Dragon Pulls Off a Monster Bluff

Nível 18 : 2,500/5,000, 500 ante
David Pham
David Pham

Fabrizio Gonzalez and David Pham are developing a large rivalry here in Event #21. We just saw David Pham pull off the biggest three barrel bluff we've seen all tournament so far.

Just before the break, Gonzalez opened to 10,000 from the cutoff. On the button Pham reraised to 27,000. Action folded back to Gonzalez who made the call.

On the {Q-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Diamonds} flop, Gonzalez checked to Pham who bet 30,000. Gonzalez went into the tank, but called after about 30 seconds.

The turn was the {Q-Clubs} and Gonzalez checked again to Pham who continued his line of agression with a bet of 65,000. Gonzalez tanked again, then made the call.

Gonzalez checked for a third time on the {4-Diamonds} river.

"How much did you start the hand with," Pham asked Gonzalez. He received no response. Pham grabbed his entire stack of orange T5,000 chips, coupled with a stack of 20, T1,000 chips and bet 120,000, leaving himself with only about 150,000 behind.

Gonzalez went deep into the tank. He stayed there for roughly five minutes trying to think his way through the hand. He grabbing calling chips, then almost mucked his hand and went back to calling chips, back and forth several times. Finally, he found a fold and threw his cards into the muck, leaving him self about 160,000 behind.

Pham looked at his cards, then decided to turn them over. He tabled {9-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} for a total airball.

"That took a lot of heart," Matt Berkey said from across the table.

Gonzalez just leaned back in his chair after the hand and tried to take it all in, while Pham was left with a pile of new chips to stack.

Timoshenko Taken Away

Nível 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Yevgeniy Timoshenko
Yevgeniy Timoshenko

Andrew Dean and Yevgeniy Timoshenko got the money in preflop and the two of them were off to a showdown.

Timoshenko: {3-Clubs}{3-Hearts}
Dean: {A-Diamonds}{A-Spades}

The flop came down {2-}{3-}{4-} giving Timoshenko a set and the lead. It was looking good for Timoshenko to double up on the {10-} turn as well, but the {5-} on the river was a dream crusher to Timoshenko as it gave Dean the winning straight. Timoshenko hit the rail in 19th place and collected $15,509 for his run.

Stout Takes Gigantic Pot From Finger

Nível 19 : 3,000/6,000, 1,000 ante
Matt Stout
Matt Stout

Preflop Matt Stout raised to 14,000. On the button Martin Finger raised to 30,000. Action folded back to Stout who four bet to 70,000. Finger put in a fifth bet to 110,000 and finally Stout stopped the preflop action by just calling.

The flop came {A-Spades}{Q-Spades}{Q-Hearts} and Stout checked to Finger. Finger put out a bet of 50,000 which prompted Stout to put in the relatively quick check raise to 120,000.

Finger went into the tank, but not for too long before he folded his hand.

Stout started raking in the chips then he grabbed one of his cards and flung it face up across the table. It was the {8-Diamonds}.

"Can you beat an {8-}?" Stout asked Finger, sticking the needle in deeper.

Stout and Finger locked eyes across the table and continued to stare each other down as Stout stacked up Finger's chips.

Rhys Jones Eliminated in 16th Place ($19,475)

Nível 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Rhys Jones - 16th Place
Rhys Jones - 16th Place

Picking up with the action on the flop of {9-Clubs}{7-Spades}{4-Clubs}, Martin Finger led out with a bet of 15,000. Rhys Jones replied by shipping his short stack all in over the top. Finger snapped him off and rolled over {Q-Hearts}{9-Hearts} for top pair. A dejected Jones showed {9-Diamonds}{8-Spades} for top pair with a lower kicker and needed help on one of the next two streets.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and the river the {3-Diamonds}, meaning that Jones was unable to improve and eliminated in 16th place. Jones will collect $19,475 for his efforts.

Finger scooped up the pot and is now sitting pretty with about 540,000 in chips.

Not a Little Chip Stack Short and Stout

Nível 20 : 4,000/8,000, 1,000 ante
Matt Stout
Matt Stout

Table chip leaders Matt Stout and Erik Seidel just engaged each other in what culminated to be quite the massive pot. It began when Stout opened to 18,000 from the cutoff and it folded to Seidel who three-bet to 55,000 out of the small blind. Action came back to Stout and he flat called.

The two took a low flop of {6-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Hearts} and Seidel continued for 60,000. Stout stuck around and the turn paired the board with the {4-Clubs}. Seidel pumped the brakes and checked his action and Stout followed suit. A second pair hit the board when the {3-Diamonds} touched down and Seidel came out with a bet of 75,000.

"Call," announced Stout after a beat.

Seidel turned up {8-Diamonds}{8-Spades} but was surprised to find Stout show {10-Hearts}{10-Spades} for a higher pocket pair. Stout scooped up the pot and is now our overwhelming chip leader with 1.26 million in chips.
