Haddox Loses One

Randy Haddox opened to 2,000 under the gun and was called by both players in the blinds.

The flop came down {Q-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{5-Diamonds} and action was checked to Haddox who bet 2,400. The player in the small blind popped it to 7,000, the player in the big blind folded, and Haddox called to see the {4-Clubs} turn. A bet of 9,200 from the player in the small blind was called by Haddox, landing the {2-Diamonds} on the river. Another bet from the player in the small blind, this one for 17,100, was called by Haddox.

The player in the small blind tabled {A-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for the ace-high flush, besting Haddox's holdings to win the pot. Despite the loss, Haddox still appears to be the Day 2c chip leader at the moment with about 320,000.

Cheong's Kings

Joeseph Cheong
Joeseph Cheong

A player raised from early position to 2,000 preflop, and action found its way to Joseph Cheong in middle position and he raised it up to 4,900. The table folded back around to the initial raiser and he made the call.

Both players were witness to the {j-Spades}{8-Spades}{8-Clubs} flop. We don't know how the action went exactly, but Cheong's short stacked opponent managed to get all in and at risk by Cheong. Cards were tabled, and both players got to see where they stood.

Cheong: {K-Clubs}{k-Hearts}
Opponent: {A-Clubs}{j-Hearts}

Cheong held the best of it with his superior pair of kings, while his opponent held a pair of jacks with an ace kicker. Anything can happen though, as there were still two cards to be exposed.

The dealer then plopped down the {10-Spades} on the turn, changing nothing. Finally the {7-Clubs} fell for the river and Cheong's opponent was sent home. Cheong now sits on a very healthy stack of around 185,000.

Some for Soulier

Fabrice Soulier
Fabrice Soulier

Raymond Davis limped from middle position, Fabrice Soulier completed from the small blind, then the big blind raised to 2,400, getting callers from both Davis and Soulier. All three checked the {J-Spades}{7-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop. The turn brought the {6-Spades} and a bet of 2,700 from Soulier which both the big blind and Davis called.

The river was the {K-Hearts}. This time Soulier bet 3,200, the big blind called, and Davis stepped aside. Soulier showed {K-Spades}{J-Diamonds} for two pair, and his opponent mucked.

Good Game To Gold

2006 Main Event Champion Jamie Gold has been eliminated. He was part of a five way pot that saw limps all the way around. The flop came down {5-Hearts}{q-Spades}{6-Hearts}, and it was checked around to Gold on the button. He instantly moved all in for 8,600, and Juan Lopez was next to act in the small blind. He tossed in the call, and everyone else folded. "I think I'm going to double you up" Lopez told Gold. Gold shot back with, "I doubt it I just have a draw."

Lopez: {10-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}
Gold: {4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds}

Gold would need a six or a two to survive the hand, but the turn brought the {a-Hearts}, and the river came the {q-Clubs}. Gold wished everyone luck, then made his way to the exits.

Double For Pahuja

Vinny Pahuja was looking like his 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event would be over, having his stack all in holding {7-}{7-} against an opponent's {k-}{k-}. However, the poker gods would intervene, sending a {7-} on the turn for Pahuja as he took the double up to now sit with over 75,000.

Hawkins Rivers Set, Back over 200K

A player moved all in for 6,900 from early position, Maurice Hawkins called, Melanie Weisner three-bet to 17,500, and Hawkins called.

The dealer fanned {k-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}, and both Hawkins and Weisner checked.

The turn was the {5-Diamonds}, Hawkins led out for 16,300, and Weisner called.

The {6-Spades} completed the board, and Hawkins moved all in for effectively 43,000. Weisner folded, and Hawkins tabled {6-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} for a rivered set of sixes. The all-in player showed {10-Hearts}{10-Clubs} for a flopped set of tens however, and won the main pot.

Double Barrel = Win For Le

Nam Le opened for 1,800 from early position as was called by two players directly behind him and the player in the big blind for a four-handed pot.

The flop came {9-Spades}{5-Spades}{K-Clubs} and it was checked to Le, who fired 2,800 into the middle. Everyone folded over to the player in the big, who made the call after some thought.

The {8-Hearts} fell on the turn and, undeterred, Le fired again - this time for 4,600. His opponent quickly folded and Le scooped the pot.

Le lost quite a few of his chips since last we checked, however, he is back up to 60,000 after winning the pot.

Aces Fail Mizzi

Sorel Mizzi
Sorel Mizzi

There was 14,000 in the middle when Sorel Mizzi checked a {Q-Clubs}{J-Clubs}{7-Spades} flop from middle position, then watched his opponent bet 7,000. Mizzi responded with an all-in raise and his opponent called with the 7,100 more he had left.

Mizzi had {A-Clubs}{A-Hearts} while his opponent had {K-Hearts}{J-Hearts}. The {3-Spades} fell on the turn and Mizzi still led with his aces, but the {K-Diamonds} on the river gave his opponent two pair and tourney survival.

Full House for Moreno

Action folded to Matthew Greenwood in the small blind and he completed the bet before Andrew Moreno raised to 2,200 from the big blind. Greenwood reraised to 6,600 and Moreno four-bet things to 14,500. Greenwood called and the flop came down {K-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}. Both players checked.

The turn was the {10-Spades} and put trip tens on board. Both players checked again and the river completed the board with the {J-Clubs}. Greenwood bet 23,000 and Moreno quickly called with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Spades}. His full house was good as Greenwood mucked his hand. Moreno won the hand and moved to 128,000 in chips.
