At the start of the day, we told you about a big hand that saw Brazilian online star Gabriel "verve.oasis" Goffi double early on. While it was a good start for Goffi, his luck seems to have turned around as he is currently back down to around the starting stack.
We're not sure how it happened, but our best guess is that they went to Rob Aaronson, who is sitting on approximately 85,000! Meanwhile, World Series of Poker Circuit regular Michael "The Great MJ" Cooper is seated at a nearby table and has built his stack up to 60,000.
Dan Smith opened for 500 from early position and action folded all the way around to Fabrice Soulier in the big blind, who chucked in a call.
The flop and Soulier checked, prompting a 700 bet from Smith. Soulier then quickly tossed in a check-raise to 1,700. Smith re-peeked at his cards and slid his hand into the muck.
Soulier is sitting on 42,000 at the moment, while Smith is a bit over the starting stack with 32,000.
Jason Mercier has had a rough go of it so far in the Main Event and is down to about 13,000 nearing the end of Level 2.
Mercier was in the big blind and in front of him was a raise to 450 and two callers. He three-bet to 1,750 and was called by two players, landing a flop of . Mercier bet 2,175 (maybe 2,200), only the original preflop raiser called, and the turn fell. Mercier checked to his opponent who bet 7,500, more than half of Mercier's remaining stack.
Mercier spent about five minutes in the tank, but ultimately opted to fold his hand.
Raymond Davis was on top of the world just a few minutes ago. He had upwards of 70,000 and was grinding peacefully, until this hand.
Our attention was caught by Vincente Sepulveda yelling "Ohhh!" pretty loudly. We ran to see what the commotion was and Davis was shaking his head. We gathered from the table that the money went in on the flop.

The board completed and that's when most of the Pavilion Room heard Sepulveda's celebration when he spiked his one-outer.
We noticed Oliver Busquet was missing from his seat, which had nothing but green felt in front of it. According to his Twitter feed, he has indeed been eliminated early.

It was the last hand before the break over on Brian Roberts' table which saw his stack rise to around 50,000. The hand in question began with the player in the cutoff opening the pot to 450. Roberts called on the button and with the rest of the table out of the way, the two players watched a flop spread on the felt.
Roberts' opponent led for 650 here and Roberts then took his time to raise it to 1,650. His opponent made a fairly quick call and the dealer flipped over a on the turn. This time Roberts' opponent checked and Roberts bet 2,900. Roberts' opponent opted to raise it here, throwing out 5,200. That amount wasn't enough for a full raise and so the player was made to raise it to 5,800. Roberts called and an completed the board on the river. This time both players checked and Roberts turned over - enough to send his opponent's into the muck.
Action folded to the player in the hijack seat and he raised to 400. Andrew Moreno was in the cutoff seat and three-bet to 1,025. Play folded back to the original raiser and he called, but only after the big blind accidentally exposed face up.
The flop came down rainbow with one club. The hijack seat checked and Moreno bet 800. His opponent check-raised to 2,200 and Moreno called.
On the turn, the came in and the hijack seat led for 3,200. Moreno called to see the complete a backdoor flush draw. Both players checked.
The hijack seat showed the for a pair of fives, but that was no good against Moreno's for a pair of aces. Moreno won the pot and moved to over 44,000 in chips.
