Dmelakian vs. Barer vs. Lyndaker

Nível 3 : 200/400, 50 ante

Ami Barer opened for 900 and received a call from Richard "nutsinho" Lyndaker on the button. Ken Demlakian then called from the big blind and three players took a flop of {7-Hearts}{j-Hearts}{4-Hearts}. Demlakian checked, Barer continued for 2,550, and both his opponents called.

After the dealer burned and turned the {6-Clubs}, Demlakian led out for 7,500, both Barer and Lyndaker called, and the {K-Spades} completed the board on the river. Demlakian bet again, this time 11,000, and Barer quickly folded. Lyndaker dropped in the call and Demlakian stated that he had two pair.

Before those cards were tabled, Lyndaker casually rolled over the {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts} for a flopped flush and the win.

Neilson Raises Off Merson

Nível 4 : 250/500, 75 ante

Greg Merson, the winner of the 2012 World Series of Poker Main Event, fired a bet of 8,000 on the paired {J-Clubs}{8-Spades}{4-Hearts}{A-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} board. His opponent, Daniel Neilson, thought for a bit and then raised to 26,000. Merson folded, and Neilson won the pot.

One for Lee

Nível 4 : 250/500, 75 ante

We missed the amounts, but Andy Lee opened with a raise from middle position and then called when Jason Mo three-bet from the small blind, which brought about a flop of {4-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{2-Hearts}. Mo continue for 4,600, Lee raised to 11,000, and Mo quickly released his cards.

It wasn't much of a hand, but it gave us a good excuse to update you on their cards.

Full House Over Full House Again

Nível 4 : 250/500, 75 ante

For the second time today, we just witnessed a hand play out that saw a full house beat another full house. Earlier, it was Jonathan Duhamel besting Peco Stojanovski, and this time it was Vanessa Rousso beating Daniel Neilson.

On the {A-Spades}{A-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop, Rousso bet 2,200. Neilson called, and then Greg Merson folded before the two players saw the {9-Clubs} turn card come out. It was here that Rousso slowed down with a check, and Neilson bet 4,800. Rousso called.

The river was the {J-Diamonds}, and Rousso checked. Neilson thought, then bet 13,500. Rousso quickly called with the {J-Spades}{J-Clubs} for a rivered full house. Neilson showed the {9-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for a turned full house, but Rousso's was bigger and she won the pot.

Duhamel Busts Barer

Nível 4 : 250/500, 75 ante
Ami Barer
Ami Barer

It's pretty much been the Jonathan Duhamel show here on Day 1 of the AU$25,000 High Roller from the 2014 World Series of Poker Asia-Pacific. He began the day by ripping off a higher full house against Peco Stojanovski's lower full house, and then he made quad deuces against Jan Suchanek to scoop another nice pot.

Just now, Duhamel sent the reigning Aussie Millions Main Event champion Ami Barer to the rail after he flopped top two pair and his hand held up.

On the {Q-Spades}{10-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, Duhamel had Barer all in and at risk. Duhamel had the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts} for queens and tens, while Barer was hoping to hit with the {K-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds} for an open-ended straight draw.

The turn was the {4-Hearts}, and the river was the {2-Spades}, though, and that run out left Barer in the dust as Duhamel climbed to over 200,000 in chips.

More for Lee

Nível 4 : 250/500, 75 ante

Dan Heimiller opened for 1,400 from middle position and Andy Lee called from the hijack. Wei Leong then three-bet to 3,700 from the cutoff, Heimiller folded, and Lee called to see the {4-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{2-Clubs} flop. Lee proceeded to check-call a bet of 5,700 and then check-called one of 6,600 on the {9-Clubs} turn.

When the {8-Spades} completed the board on the river, both players checked and Leong showed the {k-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds} for a pair of nines. It was no good though as Lee held the {j-Clubs}{a-Spades} for a flush.

Merson Applies the Pressure

Nível 4 : 250/500, 75 ante

Michael Tran raised to 1,300 from early position and Vanessa Rousso called from the cutoff. Greg Merson then three-bet to 5,500 from the small blind, Tran called, and Rousso got out of the way. When the flop came down {10-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{3-Diamonds}, Merson continued for 7,500, Tran called, and the both players checked the {J-Clubs} turn.

The {K-Clubs} river saw Merson return to betting, and this time his bet of 10,000 did the trick as Tran released his hand.
