Visconti in the Yellow Jersey

Nível 5 : 300/600, 100 ante

The first four hours of the day are almost over, and right now the biggest stack of the field might very well sit in front of France's Robin Visconti. Visconti is no stranger to success at Casino de Marrakech, as he final tabled an event during last year's WSOP Circuit festival in this very tournament room. He is looking for an encore, and so far he is in great shape with a stack of more than three times the average.

The latest addition to the stack came from table mate David Paturel. Paturel called 6,200 on the river of a {2-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{9-Spades}{3-Clubs}{5-Spades} board, only to muck his hand when Visconti turned over {A-Spades}{9-Clubs} for the straight.

Countryman Salem Sahed is also off to a great start, and is right now sitting at 121,000 chips, while Winamax VIP Michael d'Inca is up to 90,000.

An Orbit with Gaelle Baumann

Nível 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

Hand 1 - Big Blind
The action folded around to Jorge Faia in the small blind. He limped in for 800, but Gaelle Baumann made it 2,800 total from the big blind. Faia called, but surrendered to a bet of 3,200 on the {3-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{A-Hearts} flop.

Hand 2 - Small Blind
Once again the action folded around to the small blind, Baumann limped in and Frederic Heinry checked his big blind. A bet of 800 was enough to secure Baumann the pot on the {K-Spades}{A-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop.

Hand 3 - Button
Franck Lelong made it 2,400 to go from early position and both Baumann on the button and Akexandre Luneau in the big blind called. Lelong continued for 5,500 on the {2-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{4-Clubs}, Baumann called and Luneau folded. The {3-Spades} turn prompted another bet from Lelong, this time 11,000, and Baumann's cards rather quickly found the muck.

Hand 4 - Cutoff
Once again Baumann was the first player in the pot with a raise to 2,000, and both Alexandre Luneau and Nicolas Vareille in the blinds called. Baumann continued for 2,400 on the {2-Clubs}{8-Hearts}{4-Clubs} flop, and Luneau called. The {Q-Hearts} turn was checked through, before the {A-Clubs} on the river prompted a bet of 5,300 from Baumann. Luneau hesitantly folded.

Hand 5 - UTG+1
Baumann kept up the pressure making it 2,000 to go from early position, and once again Lelong tagged along for the ride. Lelong check-called 2,100 on the {7-Spades}{2-Spades}{6-Clubs} flop, but gave it up on the {Q-Hearts} turn to a bet of 5,200.

Hand 6 - UTG
In a shocking turn of events, Baumann opted to fold from first position. Thus the French Winamax Pro ends up around 10,000 chips for six hands worth of poker. Not bad, not bad!

Vella Is Eager to Put His Chips in the Middle

Nível 6 : 400/800, 100 ante

The action folded around to Raphael Renaud on the button, and he made it 2,000 to go. Jean-Michel Vella in the very next seat made it 7,500 total, and Hugues Caunille in the big blind made the cold-call. Renaud came along for the ride as well, and the three of them saw a {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{J-Diamonds} flop. Vella continued for 12,000, and only Caunille made the call.

Even before the {3-Clubs} turn had parted with the fingertips of the dealer, Vella had moved all of his blue chips worth 5,000 over the betting line, effectively committing his remaining 43,000 chips. Caunille sighed heavily, shook his head and ultimately mucked his hand. He did lighten up a bit when Vella was kind enough to show the {J-Hearts}{J-Clubs} before raking in the pot.

The biggest pot of the tournament just went down at table 13 as Nicolas Lecoeur and Alexis Tailhardat got all the money in preflop blind versus blind in a classic coinflip. The {A-Hearts}{K-Clubs} of Lecoeur was slightly trailing the {J-Spades}{J-Hearts} of Tailhardat, but the {A-Spades}{10-Hearts}{9-Clubs} flop turned that around and put Lecoeur in pole position for a massive double up.

There's no certainties in poker, however, and the {J-Clubs} turn put Tailhardat right back in the driver's seat, and the {7-Hearts} kept him right there. After a recount Lecoeur was declared eliminated, and Tailhardat could rake in the massive pot of almost 220,000.

"Three-handed. Yeah, bring it on," Romain Lewis happily exclaimed after Lecoeur had hit the rail. Lewis has got both chips (170,000 as of now) and momentum, as he recorded his biggest score just a month ago in Monaco for €127,385.

Day 1A of the SISMIX Main Event 2017 is almost at 200 entries
Day 1A of the SISMIX Main Event 2017 is almost at 200 entries

The Winamax SISMIX Main Event 2017 is well on track to become the biggest one ever. After seven levels of play 175 unique players have made it to the cashier with 6,000 Moroccan Dirham at the Casino de Marrakech, and with an additional 24 re-entries the tally is now sitting at 199 entries.

According to the Winamax Blog, Day 1A last year only drew 179 entries, while 192 players bought in during the first heat of the 2015 Main Event. The option of both late registration and re-entry will be open three more levels today (2 hours of play), and thus the final number is expected to comfortably exceed 200.
