On the heads up flop of , Koray Aldemir checked out of the big blind and Jack Salter bet 2,500 from one seat over in under the gun. Aldemir called, then glanced over to Daniel Colman who showed him a picture on the phone. The focus went right back to the action at the table and Aldemir checked the turn, as did Salter.
On the river, Aldemir then bet 5,000 and Salter folded.
Exactly one hand later, Yu Liang limped in and Aldemir filled up from the small blind. Salter raised out of the big blind and that won the pot without resistance.

The cards of Gabe Patgorski were in the muck already and a ten-high board with three spades all but rushed away. Patgorski had lost the remainder of his short stack after failing to beat the of Wai Leong Chan and immediately re-entered. With the new ticket in the hand, he walked past his former table and said "see you guys soon" before taking a seat between Mustapha Kanit and Erik Seidel.
Kanit has already more than doubled his stack and joined the chip leaders half way through Day1.

On the button, Rainer Kempe raised to 1,200 and Phil Ivey moved all in for 7,600 from one seat over in the small blind. Stanley Choi, just having sat down not long ago, moved all in from the big blind to isolate and Kempe folded.
Phil Ivey:
Stanley Choi:
The flop of gave Ivey additional outs with the flush draw, but neither the turn nor the river improved his hand. This may not be the last time we have seen Ivey in this tournament though, as he can fire a second bullet until the start of Day 2 tomorrow.

In a battle of the blinds, Timofey Kuznetsov has just been able to eliminate an opponent and boost his stack. After a three-bet preflop, Kuznetsov and his opponent headed to a flop of and the big blind bet 5,600 into 12,000. Kuznetsov called and then also called the shove worth 23,000 by the big blind on the turn.
The big blind showed and Kuznetsov had that beat with , fading the outs of his opponent. Kuznetsov was all smiling, while Winfred Yu joked "king seven off? Now you can't say it was a flush draw." Within half an hour, Kuznetsov went from a short stack to almost double stack and is back on track.
The empty chair was soon filled and no other than Phil Ivey sat down on his second bullet.

In a limped battle of the blinds, there was barely any action between Pratyush Buddiga and Adam Sanders. Both players checked the flop and Buddiga then check-raised the turn from 700 to 2,600. Sanders called with around 11,000 behind and the river paired the board and completed a possible flush draw.
Buddiga bet 25,000, more than enough to cover Sanders, and the latter reluctantly called all in. Buddiga turned over pocket nines for a full house and Sanders mucked, mentioned that he had a straight.
Buddiga then lost the next small pot to Erik Seidel in the single big blind and dropped back below starting stack.

Winfred Yu raised to 1,600 and Marius Torbergsen in the small blind asked for his stack, to which Yu replied "around 30,000 with the raise." Torbergsen three-bet to 5,200 and Timofey Kuznetsov then asked for the stack of Torbergsen before four-betting to 13,800.
Yu moved all in and Torbergsen folded before Kuznetsov asked for a count. He then called and the cards were tabled.
Winfred Yu:
Timofey Kuznetsov:
"King seven again? You want to bust me with king seven suited you ... " Yu said and kept smiling.
The flop fell and Kuznetsov picked up a flush draw, which caused some "ohhhs" around the table. A blank turn changed nothing just yet, but the on the river indeed completed the flush to eliminate Yu.

Yu Liang limped in, like he had done several times after joining his new table with Daniel Colman, Jack Salter and Koray Aldemir. The latter was in the big blind and check-called a bet worth 600 on the flop before checking again the turn. Liang bet 1,200 and Aldemir's check-raise to 3,500 was called.
Both players slowed down on the river as a fourth spade hit the board. Aldemir rolled over for a straight and that was good enough to win the pot, boosting the stack of the German slightly.
