Third Time Lucky as Santi Jiang Takes Down Event #5: $100,000 Short Deck for $756,000
After a mere 2.5 hours, Santi Jiang has taken down Event #5: $100,000 Short Deck for $756,000 by defeating Seth Davies heads-up.
The tournament attracted 20 players who reentered 22 times to get to a prize pool of $2,100.000. All six final table players made the money but Jiang was the one who walked away with the most.
He came into the final table third in the counts but saw Day 1 chip leader Ivan Leow fall before him in fifth place after Chris Brewer had busted. Paul Phua was eliminated in fourth place to then take his seat in the streamed cash game with Leon Tsoukernik, Tony G, Rob Yong, and Hing Yang Chow.
Timofey Kuznetsov was taken out after for Davies and Jiang to battle it out. For both of them, it was their third final table of the week but Jiang managed to clinch the win in the end.
