1 PM Start for the PokerStars SCOOP-121-H: $1,050 NLHE PKO with $1,500,000 Guarantee

Connor Drinan

After a day off, the PokerNews live reporting team is back at it for the final two days of this month-long PokerStars 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker and one of the final events to be covered is SCOOP-121-H: $1,050 NLHE [8-Max, Progressive KO] with a whopping $1,500,000 guarantee.

Several amazing feats have been witnessed during this year's series with Connor "blanconegro" Drinan winning four titles in one year equaling Shaun Deeb's record to make it six in total for him. Mike "SirWatts" Watson also won his sixth title. With over $170 million in prize money already handed out, there's still more up for grabs. The United Kingdom is currently leading the pack with the most SCOOP titles, narrowly ahead of Brazil with more than 40 titles each. Russia, Germany, and the Netherlands complete the top five.

Looking at the leaderboard, Rui "RuiNF" Ferreira, the Portuguese player who resides in the Netherlands has been dominating the overal chase to the top of the board. He has been showing his skills from the start and hasn't let go of the top spot. He is followed by Konstantin "krakukra" Maslak, Talal "raidalot" Shakerchi, Patrick "pads1161" Leonard, and Murilo "Muka82" Figueiredo. With $50,000 up for grabs for first place, Ferreira seems unstoppable but Maslak is closing in after last night's win. Second place awards $20,000, while third gives that player $10,000.

Players will get 100,000 chips when they enter the tournament and play 20-minute levels on Day 1. Level duration will increase to 30 minutes from Level 37 onwards. Players can reenter twice during the late registration period which lasts 4 hours and 25 minutes. Day 1 will end after eight hours and 50 minutes with Day 2 resuming on June 1st at 1 p.m. EST.

As this is a progressive knockout tournament, $500 of each buyin will be added to the prize pool while the other $500 is part of the bounty which is what each player starts with. Every time a player is knocked out, 50% of their bounty is awarded to the player who busts them and the other 50% is added to that player's own bounty. A minimum bounty of $250 can be won.

For some players this tournament can save their SCOOP, for others, a win here might just be the cherry on top, who knows... But PokerNews will be there for it all, so make sure to follow along with the live updates.
