LAPT and High Roller Champion Oscar Alache Takes His Seat

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

The $3,300 PokerStars Festival Chile High Roller is underway with five players, and none other than Latin America Poker Tour Champion, Oscar Alache, has taken his seat in this first level of the day.

Alache holds an LAPT title from March 2015 after taking down the $2,500 Main Event for $131,962, right here in Vina del Mar. In that same series, he also won the Pot Limit Omaha side event, taking home two trophies.

The champion is also no stranger to high roller events, earning a title after taking down the 2014 $3,000 Punta Cana Poker Classic High Roller for $28,520. Alache has a total of nine recorded wins, with plenty of final tables on his resume as well.

Alache is the only Chilean player in the field so far, and is no stranger to playing in his home country, boasting a total of 18 career cashes, with five of those being outright wins.

Look for Alache to continue to pad his already-impressive resume right here on home soil.

Leo Fernandez
Leo Fernandez

Argentinian PokerStars pro, Leo Fernandez, has joined the action early on in the High Roller at Casino Enjoy Viña del Mar.

Fernandez is third all-time on the Argentinian money list with just over $2 million in live tournament cashes. Of that total, Fernandez has won two high roller titles, both in Sao Paulo, Brazil. The first was the R$5,000 2014 BSOP Millions for R$386,000 (USD $150,370) and the second was the R$10,000 2012 LAPT Grand Final for R$124,030 (USD $71,717). Fernandez also came close to another title after finishing second in the 2011 PCA High Roller, which was also his largest career cash for USD$554,925.

Fernandez has cashed twice in Chile, with his best result being a fourth place finish in the the LAPT High Roller for USD$22,960 right here in Viña del Mar. He looks to add to his Chilean totals with a big result in this year's event.

Top Two for Fernandez

Nível 1 : 50/100, 0 ante

Joaquin Earcena limped in from the hijack, as did Oscar Alache on the button, and Norberto Korn from the small blind.

Leo Fernandez was in the big blind and decided to raise to 600. Earcena quickly called, and Alache thought for a moment before calling as well. Korn folded.

The flop came {k-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} and Fernandez checked. Earcena bet 700 and Fernandez wasted no time tossing in a chip to call.

The turn was the {q-Hearts} and both players checked to the river, which was the {3-Diamonds}. Fernandez fired out a bet of 2,000 and Earcena called.

The PokerStars pro tabled {k-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for top two pair, and Earcena glanced back at his cards a couple of times before sending them into the muck.

Alex Manzano is Looking for a Second High Roller Title on Home Soil

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Chilean pro, Alex Manzano, has joined in on the action early on in the day. He is just the second player from Chile, in a field of mostly Argentinians, and sits in third on the all-time money list, just two spots above his fellow countryman, Oscar Alache.

Manzano holds a Latin America Poker Tour title after taking down the 2011 R$ 5,000 Main Event in Sao Paolo, Brazil for R$ 615,840 (USD $368,722). He also won the 2014 $3,000 Latin Series of Poker (LSOP) Millions II High Roller in Panama City for $43,731.

While Manzano has a proven talent playing No Limit Hold'em, he also took down the 2016 €10,300 Pot Limit Omaha European Poker Tour event in Barcelona (€237,500) and owns a World Series of Poker circuit ring after taking down the 2016 $300 Pot Limit Omaha event in Punta del Este, Uruguay. To add to this, five of his seven live recorded tournament wins are Pot Limit Omaha events, clearly displaying how well-rounded Manzano is as a poker player.

Jorge Postigo Wins a Big One

Nível 2 : 75/150, 0 ante

Action folded around to Jorge Postigo in the small blind, and he raised to 450. Joaquin Earcena was in the big blind and decided to defend.

The flop came {10-Diamonds}{8-Spades}{6-Clubs}, and Postigo led out for 525. Earcena raised to 1,125, and Postigo called.

The turn was the {a-Clubs}, and both players checked to the river, which was the {k-Hearts}.

Postigo led out for 1,550, and Earcena thought for a minute before raising to 3,125. Postigo went into the tank, and after some deliberation, he decided to call. Earcena immediately mucked his hand, sending the pot to Postigo.
