Joao Simao and Renato Nowak battled until the early morning hours in the first €25,000 Super High Roller and the former finished second to Patrik Antonius, while the latter came third. Both are sharing the same table at the start along with early big stack Timothy Adams, who just defended his big blind against a raise by Nowak.
The flop was checked through and Adams check-called a bet of 50,000 on the turn. The river completed the board and Adams checked once more, and Nowak's bet of 127,000 forced a fold.
Nowak was involved in a three-bet with Simao and let go on the flop.
Patrick Leonard faced a raise to 40,000 by Leon Tsoukernik and three-bet to 125,000 from one seat over. Once the action was back on Tsoukernik, he said "so you want my 50k huh?" with a smile on the face before moving all in shortly after. Leon ard glanced at the stack of Tsoukernik and let go.
Renato Nowak was seemingly involved in almost all of the hands on his table and raised the river from 100,000 to 300,000. His opponent in the hand was no other than Joao Simao, who gave him a short stare down and folded. Shortly after, another big pot emerged with 330,000 in the middle to a flop of . Both Nowak and Chi Zhang checked and the latter then bet the turn for 175,000 to force a fold.
Timothy Adams raised to 33,000 first to act and was called by Renato Nowak in middle position and Bertrand Grospellier in the big blind. On the flop, Grospellier checked and Adams bet 30,000 to see both opponents call. The turn brought no betting action while Grospellier then bet the river for 225,000.
Adams called and Nowak folded, prompting Grospellier to roll over for top two. Nowak added some table chat and Grospellier asked "did you have ace king?" to which Nowak just shook his head.
Jean-Noel Thorel opened to 45,000 in the cutoff and Renato Nowak called on the button. Steve O'Dwyer in the small blind called as well and Chi Zhang three-bet out of the big blind, making it 265,000 to go. Thorel and Nowak folded while O'Dwyer gave Zhang a quick look before moving all in. Zhang literally beat him into the pot in the very same moment and the cards were turned over.
