Jeremie Zouari moved all in for around 24,000 from early position and Youcef Benzerfa put him at risk on the button.
Jeremie Zouari: A♥K♥
Youcef Benzerfa: J♣J♠
The 4♠4♦10♦ flop was no help to Zouari, while the J♦ turn gave Benzerfa a full house and left Zouari drawing dead. The river was the 4♣ and Zouari headed for the exit.
Gerard Carbo, a Power Path qualifier, opened to 2,000 from middle position and Theo Milioni defended his big blind.
Milioni check-called bets of 1,500 and 5,000 for the final board to read K♦9♥5♠3♦J♣. Milioni checked for a third time and Carbo jammed for 10,800. Millioni, who only just had Carbo covered, went deep into the tank for several minutes before deciding to call.
Carbo tabled K♣5♣ for two pair and Milioni mucked. His cards were never revealed and he was eliminated shortly after.
Manuel Rossi bet 5,000 under the gun on a flop of 10♣4♥6♣ before Wei Zheng moved all in for 26,500 in the cutoff. Andrea Bottinelli then reshoved for 46,000 in the small blind.
Rossi tanked for several minutes until he gave up his hand, leaving Zheng and Bottinelli heads-up.
Wei Zheng: A♠10♦
Andrea Bottinelli: 6♦6♠
Bottinelli was ahead with a set of sixes as the turn came the A♥ to give Zheng some outs. Zheng missed the 4♦ river and was sent to the rail.
Fintan Hand raised to 2,000 in early position before Claudio Tornetta three-bet to 6,000 in middle position. Ilia Fathi called in the big blind but then attempted to pull his chips back.
"I didn't see it," Fathi said, explaining he only meant to call Hand's raise and didn't notice Tornetta had reraised. Tornetta pointed out that he had already said call and his chips must remain in the middle.
"You're very eager for that extra 6,000," Hand said to Tornetta as he also called.
The flop came 9♠2♦Q♦ and Fathi moved all in for 6,500. Hand folded, but Tornetta snap-called.
Ilia Fathi: 9♣4♦
Claudio Tornetta: Q♣Q♥
Fathi had run into Tornetta's flopped set. "Diamonds are live," a tablemate said optimistically, but Fathi missed the 8♥ turn and 7♣ river and headed to the rail.
Around 15,000 was in the pot in a blind versus blind battle and the flop showing Q♦6♠8♥. Jonathan Khalifa then led out for 7,200 and Daniele Sacchi raised to 17,200.
"You don't have queens for sure. I don't put you on eights or sixes," Khalifa said before moving all in. Sacchi quickly called for around 40,000.
Daniele Sacchi: A♣Q♣
Jonathan Khalifa: K♣K♥
"Ace-queen? That's exactly the hand I put you on," Khalifa said. The board ran out 4♦4♣ and Sacchi couldn't improve against Khalifa's kings and was sent to the rail.
"Can I have a big hand, too? Or does it only work for you?" a tablemate joked with the suddenly big-stacked Khalifa after the hand.
Sebastien Maestrati had a raise of 7,000 in front of him from the small blind before Ilan Cohen moved all in for 34,000 in early position. Maestrati called.
Ilan Cohen: A♣K♣
Sebastien Maestrati: J♣J♠
Cohen couldn't look and lowered his head toward the ground as the dealer spread out the 6♠5♦Q♠3♦9♣ board. He finally peeked at the cards and realized he hadn't connected against Maestrati's jacks, sending him to the rail.
