Therme Calls for the Rest of It

Nível 6 : 300/600, 600 ante
Jonathan Therme
Jonathan Therme

Action was heads-up with nearly 60,000 in the pot and a full board of {q-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} while Jonathan Therme was deep in the tank after Rocco Palumbo shoved from under the gun with him covered. After several minutes, Therme emerged from the tank with a call and the cards were turned up.

Therme turned over {q-Clubs}{j-Diamonds} for queens and deuces, but Palumbo had {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for queens full of deuces to take the pot and eliminate Therme while moving near the 200,000 mark.

Mikschik Busts Eventually as Trofimov and Jorstad Chip Up

Nível 5 : 200/500, 500 ante
Dragos Trofimov
Dragos Trofimov

In a battle big blind versus under the gun, table big stack Dragos Trofimov bet the {5-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{j-Spades}{a-Clubs} river for 11,200. Peter Mikschik had 11,600 behind and called to muck when Trofimov tabled the {j-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} for two pair.

Andrey Andreev and Michael Rudolph then limped and Espen Jorstad raised to 2,100 on the button. Mikschik was forced all-in from the big blind and Andreev as well as Rudolph called. The {q-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs} flop was checked to Jorstad, who bet 2,400 and earned two calls. On the {7-Hearts} turn, they checked to Jorstad again who bet 7,400 and isolated.

Peter Mikschik: {k-Spades}{6-Spades}
Espen Jorstad: {a-Clubs}{q-Spades}

Mikschik was on his way out but spiked the {k-Hearts} on the river.

Trofimov then min-raised the button and Mikschik called with very few chips behind, as did Jules Hamidou in the big blind. The {10-Hearts}{9-Spades}{7-Diamonds} flop was check-called or 500 by Hamidou as the {10-Diamonds} turn was checked. Hamidou wanted to bet 2,000 on the {a-Clubs} river but made it 6,000 to which Trofimov called with a single chip.

Hamidou mucked to forfeit the pot and then admitted his mishap while Trofimov won the pot without showdown.

Last but not least, Mikschik got it in with a king and Lorenzo Lavis turned an unbeatable flush with the {7-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} to knock out the German.

Salle des Etoiles at Le Sporting Monte-Carlo

The return of the PokerStars European Poker Tour (EPT) presented by Monte-Carlo Casino® is destined to be a stunning success based on the numbers of early events and the turnout of the flagship tournament of the stop on the French Riviera. Yesterday's Day 1a of the 2022 EPT Monte Carlo €5,300 Main Event drew a field of 419 entries and that puts the marquee tournament on track for potentially setting a new record at Le Sporting Monte-Carlo.

Nearly €2.3 million in prize money has already been collected and that number is expected to increase significantly with the second flight scheduled to get underway at noon local time. At that time, all survivors of the two starting days will combine to one field and recommence the action at blinds of 1,000-1,500 and a big blind ante of 1,500. As of Day 2, the level duration will increase to 90 minutes each and a winner will be crowned on May 7, 2022.
