Rainer Kempe
Rainer Kempe

Simon Higgins opened to 6,000 from the button and was called by Simone Demasi from the small blind. Rainer Kempe then put in his last 36,000 from the big blind and only Demasi called.

Rainer Kempe: {k-Clubs}{j-Clubs}
Simone Demasi: {a-Hearts}{9-Clubs}

Kempe paired up on the {a-Spades}{j-Spades}{9-Spades} flop but was still behind as Demasi made two pair. The {2-Spades} turn left Kempe drawing to two outs but the {9-Hearts} river filled Demasi up instead.

Bounty Prizes Come into Play for Day 2 of EPT Prague Mystery Bounty

Big Mystery Bounty Pull
Big Mystery Bounty Pull

The action continues at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Prague, with Day 2 of the €3,000 Mystery Bounty kicking off at 1 p.m. CET inside the fantastic Hilton Prague.

Day 1 of the tournament saw 676 entries with 232 players bagging a stack for Day 2. Those players generated a prize pool of €1,842,880 which means €1,166,880 sits in the regular prize pool while another €676,000 is up for grabs in bounty prizes.

Plenty more entries are expected, as late registration for the event is open until Day 2 gets underway in an hour's time. The fun really gets going today, as the mystery bounty element comes into play.

Each player who has a stack on Day 2 will receive a bounty token, and anyone who busts an opponent will receive the chip which will allow them to pull one of the coveted golden EPT envelopes.

The top bounty prize is expected to be €100,000 with the minimum being €500. The final prize pool will be confirmed as the proceedings begin, and PokerNews will relay that information when it is available.

Day 2 entrants will receive the 30,000 starting stack, which is good for 20 big blinds as play will resume on Level 13, where the blinds will be 1,000/1,500 as well as a big blind ante of 1,500.

Kamatakis in Pole Position for Day 2

Ilios Kamatakis
Ilios Kamatakis

Leading the pack is Greece's Iliodoros Kamatakis after he ended the starting session with a stack of 329,000.

If Kamatakis performs as well as he did on Day 1, then it is very likely he will cross the $1 million milestone in live tournament earnings, as his current total stands at $987,301.

Coincidentally, his best finish in an EPT event came in Prague in 2014, where he finished in second place for €54,240 in the series's €2,150 NLH Turbo event. The following year, at the 2015 EPT Prague stop, he secured the best cash of his career in the €10,300 High Roller, where he took home €180,890 after bowing out in fifth place.

Lars Garp and Fiodor Martino also had a fruitful day on the patented EPT blue felt and ended the day with 268,500 and 228,000 respectively to round out the top three chip counts.

Other notable names returning for the second day of action are Adrian Mateos (138,000), Leo Margets (91,000), and EPT London Main Event winner Ian Hamilton (216,500).

PokerStars' Alejandro Lococo and Benjamin Spragg were also in attendance when the Mystery Bounty event kicked off but neither player survived the opening 12 levels.
