Haxton Playing the "Nuts"

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

PokerStars Team Online player Isaac Haxton began Day 2 with a very short stack of 2,100 in chips, but he has since turned things around and moved back to 15,500.

On his first double, Fedor Holz raised all in from early position for 5,100 before Matthew Fox reraised to isolate. Haxton was in the big blind and called all in with the {A-Diamonds}{K-Diamonds}. Holz held the {Q-Clubs}{8-Clubs}, and Fox had {A-}{Q-}.

"Waited for the nuts," said Haxton.

The flop, turn, and river ran out {6-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{3-Diamonds}{A-Spades}{10-Diamonds}, and Haxton tripled up.

An orbit later, Haxton raised preflop and everyone folded. He showed the {A-Clubs}{K-Clubs}.

"Only ace-king suited. That's the only hand I'm playing all day," Haxton commented.

Shortly thereafter, Haxton was all in again. This time, he had the {K-Diamonds}{K-Spades} and was up against the {A-Spades}{10-Clubs} for his opponent. The board ran out {6-Hearts}{3-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}, and Haxton doubled up again.

Lensen's Dream Ends

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

Dutchman Kevin Lensen qualified for the 2013 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure, and an adventure it truly has been. Lensen traveled abroad for the first time in his life and brought his dad along for the journey.

Unfortunately for the amateur player his quest for poker immortality ended early on Day 2 and he explained to us what happened.

Lensen looked down on queen-jack suited in the small blind and called a 2,000-chip raise from the player in the cutoff. The button called as well and the flop brought out {J-}{9-}{3-}. Both blinds checked and the initial raiser bet 3,000.

Lensen check-raised all in for his remaining 23,000 chips and the big blind folded. The initial raiser called with {J-}{9-}, and despite getting some more outs on the turn when an {8-} popped up, it was all over for Lensen on the river.

The Dutchman explained to us that he's going to enjoy some time in the sun, play some of the smaller side events and enjoy the PokerStars party on Sunday night.

Nines For Harwood

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

In a raised pot, Vittorio Dicrisco and Loni Harwood took a flop of {J-Hearts}{10-Spades}{5-Diamonds}. Dicrisco checked over to Harwood who knuckled the table as well.

The {8-Clubs} dropped down on fourth street and Dicrisco bet 2,100 which Harwood quickly called. The {3-Spades} fell on the river and Dicrisco fired a final bet of 2,600. Harwood called as well and showed {9-Diamonds}{9-Spades}. Dicrisco tabled {2-Diamonds}{2-Clubs} for the second best hand and Harwood dragged in the pot. The World Series of Poker bracelet winner is now sitting on 64,000 in chips.

Selbst Over Danzer

Nível 9 : 400/800, 100 ante

PokerStars Team Pros Vanessa Selbst and George Danzer took a flop together in a raised pot. The flop came down {8-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Diamonds} and Selbst led from the hijack for 2,400. George Danzer, from the next seat over, flatted to see fourth street.

The {J-Clubs} came on the turn and Selbst dropped out 3,700. Danzer reached into his stack and came out with a raise to 12,000. Selbst thought for about 30 seconds before moving out a call. The board paired with the {K-Hearts} on fifth street and Selbst tapped the table. Danzer wasted little time checking it back.

"Jack," said Selbst, tabling {Q-Spades}{J-Diamonds}.

Danzer flicked his cards into the muck and Selbst dragged in the pot. She's now sitting at about 82,000 while Danzer has dropped to 40,000.
