Martic Finds Huge Double

Nível 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Andrija Martic
Andrija Martic

Raul Mestre opened the button for 80,000. From the small blind it was Andrija Martic who shoved allin for 765,000. Vicky Coren-Mitchell thought about it for a little bit from the big blind, before releasing her hand. Mestre thought about it for a little bit as well, but he did call.

Raul Mestre: {A-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Andrija Martic: {K-Spades}{8-Spades}

Mestre was in the lead, but not for long. {K-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} on the flop made Martic take the lead. The {Q-Spades} gave Mestre some extra outs, but the {4-Diamonds} on the river was a blank and Martic doubled up. Mestre is now one of the shortest stacks.

Grinding the Short Stack with Nuutinen

Nível 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Jorma Nuutinen
Jorma Nuutinen

Jorma Nuutinen may not have a whole lot of chips left but he’s not afraid to get in amongst the action as this series of hands that happened in a short space of time shows.

Andrea Benelli opened for 80,000 and from the small blind and Nuutinen moved all in for 705,000. Benelli folded when it got back round to him.

The next time Benelli opened for 80,000 Nuutinen again moved all in from the cutoff over the top of his raise, and again took it down.

Nuutinen opened for 80,000 and folded when big blind and big stack Jordan Westmorland raised 200,000.

Nuutinen again folded after opening for 80,000 and facing a 190,000 raise, this time from Giacomo Fundaro.

When Fundaro opened from under the gun for 85,000 Nuutinen called from the big blind and they saw a flop of {q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{a-Spades}.

Nuutinen check called a bet of 125,000 from Fundaro. They both checked the {5-Diamonds} turn and when a {q-Diamonds} hit the river Nuutinen went for a bet of 100,000.

Fundaro took a while but made the call and mucked when Nuutinen showed the value he had got from his tabled {a-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}.

Benelli Raises River

Nível 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

Jordan Westmorland opened in the small blind for 85,000 and Andrea Benelli made the call from the small blind.

The two players saw a flop of {5-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{10-Spades}.

Westmorland bet 75,000 and Benelli made the call. The {4-Diamonds} on the turn saw both players check but when the {j-Diamonds} came on the river Westmorland continued the betting, sliding out 175,000.

Benelli raised him to 350,000 and Westmorland tried to puzzle it out as Benelli’s rail crowded closer to the table. They were jubilant at their players move when Westmorland made the fold and the pot was pushed Benelli’s way.

Raul Mestre Eliminated in 10th Place (€34,480)

Nível 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante
Raul Mestre
Raul Mestre

Raul Mestre was short after losing that big hand against Andrija Martic, and had to force something. He shoved under the gun for 225,000. He must have hoped to get through, big blind Pariset isn't known for his light calls after all.

Unfortunately for Mestre, Andreas Goeller picked up a hand and he made the call from the small blind. After Pariset indeed folded, the cards were tabled:

Raul Mestre: {K-Hearts}{8-Hearts}
Andreas Goeller: {2-Diamonds}{2-Hearts}

It wasn't all that bad for Mestre as he had plenty of outs. The cards he could hit for the win would increase every street, but he wouldn't hit one of the 20 outs he had by the time the river fell on the board: {9-Hearts}{7-Spades}{7-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}.

Raoul Mestre out in 10th place for €34,480. The remaining 9 players are guaranteed €41,930 and will take place at the last table. We'll need to lose one more player to call it the official final table though, we'll be right back with the seat order and exact chip counts.

The Daily EPT10 Player of the Year Update for 4-19-14

Nível 26 : 20,000/40,000, 5,000 ante

The European Poker Tour Season 10 Player of the Year race is on, and as we've mentioned before it's a heated affair between current leader Ole Schemion and Team PokerStars Pro Vanessa Selbst, the former of which is still playing in the the €10,000 High Roller.

As you know players have been accumulating points in all events throughout Season 10, regardless of the buy-in level. In addition, all of the Festival Events (Estrellas, UKIPT, Eureka, FPS, IPT) that combine with an EPT tour stop have been eligible for Player of the Year points. The winner of this season’s award will walk away with €50,000 in Main Event buy-ins, good for any PokerStars or Full Tilt sponsored event.

The Global Poker Index (GPI) points formula, which will be used to determine the EPT10 POY, is a bit complicated, but you can read about all the details here.

Since yesterday, Alex Bilokur jumped up two spots to No. 4, which in turned dropped Dominik Panka and Adrian Mateis Diaz a spot apiece. In addition, both Olivier Busquet and Jose Carlos Garcia cracked the top ten at ninth and tenth respectively, which resulted in both Georgios Karakousis and Ami Barer fell off the top ten.

Here are the current top ten on the EPT10 POY Leaderboard:
