Oleksii Khoroshenin is playing in today's Day 1A here in Sanremo and he even smiled before the final hand of the tournament as well, though his start has not been great so far. After preflop 3bet with Candido Goncalves, the Ukrainian led for 1,200 on the flop and 2,200 on the turn . The Frenchman called the first barrel but not the second ...

Blazej Przygorzewski from Poland is the first player to leave this tournament empty handed.
According to Mathew Frankland he busted with queens versus ace king. The player under the gun had raised it up to 300 and received a call from Michael Gathy. Przygorzewski squeezed from the button to 1,400 and the initial raiser just shoved all in for about 40,000. Gathy got out of the way, but called all in for his remaining 15,000.
The ace king got there, Przygorzewski's queens hit the muck as the Polish player made his way to the exit.

We didn’t catch the action leading up to the river on table 12 but the cards on the felt were
.
The all in red triangle was in front of Michael Eiler and the action was on seat six who made the call. A look of disgust crossed the other player still in the hand, Joseph Cahill from Ireland, who made the fold. Eiler’s was beaten by the set of his opponent.
Cahill, who said he had "Top two", was unhappy at how the action had unfolded and whether calling with a set in that spot was the right play. They agreed to disagree and play carried on without Eiler who had lasted just 90 minutes.

In one of the last hands of Level 1 we saw Aku Joentausta raise to 225, the player one seat further called and Joel Vanderschelden made it 625 to go. Both opponents called to see the three-way flop where only the Finn check-called the continuation bet of Vanderschelden for 1,000. On the turn Joentausta check-raised from 1,500 to 3,700 before firing 7,000 on the river . The Frenchman called but then mucked when getting shown for the full house.

Kitty Kuo wasn’t the victim of a Vanessa Selbst three-bet but Alberto Musini, an Italian PokerStars player, was. He opened for 350 and Selbst made it 800 from the button. The blinds folded and Musini started at her through his sunglasses before making the call.
The flop was .
A check from Musini and Selbst threw out a bet of 500. No resistance from Musini and the Selbst’s three-bet special takes it down.
