We caught the action on a flop of in a three-way pot between Andy Lee, Daniel Laidlaw (button) and Espen Solaas (small blind).
First to act, the player in middle position had led out for a pot-sized bet of 7,000 with Laidlaw making the call. Solaas nearly timed out but decided to re-pot for 39,300 with just seconds to spare on the shot clock.
The middle position player re-potted all-in for 62,500, Laidlaw called off his remaining 35,000 and Solaas called all in for 62,200.
The player in middle position had flopped gin with with Laidlaw on the club flush draw holding
while Solaas held the dominated
for middle set and an eight-high club draw.
In a cruel twist of fate, it was Solaas with the worst hand who improved to the best after hitting the runner, runner straight when the came down on the turn and the
hit the river. Laidlaw headed for the exit and Lee was left crippled with just 300 left and busted shortly afterward.

The pots don't grow too big with just nine players remaining and seven getting into the money. Most pots don't get past the flop right now.
Nine-handed pot limit omaha is a less action-packed than the short-handed tables the players were sitting at earlier and few hands have gone the distance.
One that did saw Espen Solaas open the action from middle position to 5,000 and Jonathan Abdellatif make the call from the big blind.
Abdellatif checked the flop over to Solaas and he continuation bet 5,000, which Abdellatif called.
Both players checked the turn and when the
hit the river Abdellatif led out for 17,500 into a pot of 20,000. Solaas thought it over but folded and Abdellatif padded out his stack a little.

Under the gun plus one, Jarrad Godema raised to 7,000 with about 9,000 behind. Raj Ramakrishnan called from middle position and big blind Gary Benson called all in for 6,400 and revealed his cards. He was corrected by the dealer and instantly grabbed his cards back but most had seen by then.
With 1,200 in the side pot, the flop came . Godema shoved all in and Ramakrishnan instantly called.
Jarrad Godema:
Gary Benson:
Raj Ramakrishnan:
Benson was well in front and Godema was the favorite for the side pot, but that would all change. The on the turn didn't do much just yet but the
on the river sure did.
"Nine of clubs?!" Benson said.
As Ramakrishnan collected the chips, Benson continued; "That sucked!"
Two players hit the rail and, just like that, the tournament is in the money with only seven players remaining. They're guaranteed AUD$18,330 from here on out.
