Marty Smyth Recebe Duas Nomeações Para os European Poker Awards 2008
O jogador profissional Irlandês Marty Smyth, que recentemente venceu o Ladbrokes Poker Million VII recebeu duas nomeações para os European Poker Awards 2008. Esta cerimónia tem data marcada para 15 de Janeiro e terá lugar no Aviation Club em Paris.

Todas as categorias são bastante competitivas com a categoria de 'Rookie of the Year' a ser uma das mais difíceis. Peter Eastgate teve um grande ano ao vencer o Main Event das WSOP, mas o seu amigo e compatriota Jesper Hougaard venceu este ano duas braceletes WSOP e Sebasthian Ruthenberg também é um grande candidato pois para além de uma bracelete WSOP venceu também uma etapa do European Poker Tour. Ivan Demidov é outro dos fortes candidatos, mesmo não tendo ganho nenhum torneio teve duas fantásticas prestações nas WSOP e WSOPE.
Ainda mais difícil que a categoria anterior será a de 'Best Tournament Performance', juntando-se aos jogadores anteriores Neil Channing e Marty Smyth. Na categoria de 'Player of the Year' será uma corrida entre Bertrand Grospellier campeão WPT/EPT e Marty Smyth vencedor do Ladbroker Poker Million VII, WSOP Pot Limit Omaha World Championship e do 6th Annual Irish Poker Classic Pot Limit Omaha.
