Event #5: No-Limit Holdem Mix Max kicked off just after 6 p.m. at the Crown Entertainment Complex Monday.
This unique event was played full ring until the final 36 players remained, then played six handed down to the final eight.
Those eight finalists will return to Crown Tuesday to play a heads-up tournament to determine a winner, and coverage of the final will be right here on PokerNews.
The Mix Max Event #5 Starts Today
At 6.10 p.m. local time, the A$1,150 Mix-Max Event of the 2016 Aussie Millions Poker Championship gets underway at the poker room of the Crown Entertainment Complex. The tournament features a unique structure with levels of 40 minutes and a starting stack of 10,000 chips.
Registration as well as a single reentry is possible until the end of level six and the tournament will be played full ring until the last 36 players remain. Then, the remaining participants will be drawn to six six-handed tables and play continues until the last eight remain. Those finalists will be ranked according to their chip count and heads up rounds will commence (1 vs 8, 2 vs 7, 3 vs 6, 4 vs 5) with the winners of each match to progress until a champion is crowned.
The main focus of the PokerNews coverage is on the final tables of the Opening Event and the Shot Clock Shootout.
