All the chips went into the middle preflop with Esmeraldo Vergel at risk for 13,600 from early position. They were covered by the cutoff.
Esmeraldo Vergel: A♥K♦
Cutoff: A♣Q♦
The flop of 10♣9♣8♣ brought plenty of danger to Vergel as the cutoff could hit any queen, jack or club to win the hand. Thankfully for Vergel the two running 9♠9♦ gave both players trip nines, but Vergel's king outkicked the cutoff's queen.

As late registrations were closed at the end of Level 8, the number of entrants stopped increasing and settled at 3,122 entrants.
Like most the other events of the 2023 World Series Of Poker, the $1,000 Super Seniors event set a new record with 457 more entrants than last year.
After a limp from the player under the gun, his neighbor limped too. Then, from the cutoff to the big blind all players added a single blind to the pot to see the flop K♣2♥4♠.
The blinds checked, as well as the initial limper. But the player seated at his left decided to bet 2,200. The cutoff and the blinds folded, but not Ron Arceri on the button who kept calling.
On the turn Q♥, both players checked and a 7♣ river quickly appeared on the table. The early position player bet again 3,000, and was called by Arceri who folded his hand after his opponent flipped K♥J♥ for a pair of kings.
Even if he lost this hand, Arceri remains the biggest stack at his table with 170,000 chips.

A few minutes after the break, a player in middle position raised to 4,000, and was called by the button. But from the small blind, Alexander Hill moved all in for 24,800 chips.
The middle position player took a moment and just called. On the other hand, the button seemed to struggle a lot more to make a decision. But at the end, he folded, revealing A♥10♦.
Alexander Hill: K♦K♠
Middle position: J♦J♣
The button was disgusted when an ace came on the flop 8♠7♣A♦, but there was nothing he could do. In the end, Hill won the hand after the turn 10♣ and the river 3♥ and doubled up.

Players are enjoying their final 20-minute break of the evening. Late registration will close once the break ends.
All the chips went into the middle preflop with Steven Schneider at risk in the cutoff for 69,100 against the big blind.
Steven Schneider: A♦A♥
Big Blind: Q♦Q♥
The big blind was in bad shape and the low board of 7♦5♦2♠3♦3♠ provided no help. Schneider secured a massive double-up and will be eyeing to bag tonight with a massive stack.
