Event #89: $5,000 No-Limit Hold'em
Dia 1 Iniciado
At noon local time, the very last event of the 50th Annual World Series of Poker the Event #89: $5,000 No-Limit Hold’em is set to kick off here in the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino. This will be the final chance for players to win a bracelet in 2019 in Las Vegas and it’s going to be a fast-paced tournament as levels will only last 30 minutes each.
Last year, Phil Hellmuth cemented his place in poker history even more by winning his 15th WSOP bracelet in this event. Right now, he’s still got a stack in The Closer but has already indicated that he’s ready to chase that 16th bracelet for his trophy case. Hellmuth has cashed nine times already this summer and secured his tenth in The Closer despite taking time out mid-Series to travel to South America.
Other notable players who made the final table include Steven Wolansky, Alan Sternberg, Aliaksei Boika, Matt Glantz, and Paul Hofer. Some other familiar faces who made it into the money included Jeremy Ausmus, Griffin Benger, Chance Kornuth, Jonathan Abdellatif, Darryll Fish, Liv Boeree, Davidi Kitai, Anthony Zinno, Greg Merson, and many more.
Last year’s edition of this event attracted 452 entries and it remains to be seen how many will show up for the last Las Vegas bracelet event of the summer. The format for this year hasn’t only changed with the big blind ante but it now also gives players one chance to reenter in case they get eliminated before the end of the late registration period which lasts until the start of Level 13 which should be at approximately 7:55 p.m. local time.
Twenty levels of play are scheduled for the first day of this two-day event, players will get 30,000 in chips when they sit down. A 20-minute break will take place after every four levels with a 75-minute dinner break after the twelfth level at approximately 6:40 p.m. As usual, the PokerNews live reporting team will be on hand to bring you all the latest action from the floor so make sure to stick around to read all about it.
