At 2 p.m. local time, the 2019 World Series of Poker will see the lovers of 'the great game' return to their seats in the Amazon Tan section of the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino to as Day 2 of Event #45: $25,000 Pot-Limit Omaha High Roller will recommence with 128 players out of 221 entries remaining.
A new record is in sight for the most-expensive Omaha tournament of the summer schedule as last year's field size of 230 entries is all but reached. New entries will receive 150,000 in chips with returning blinds of 1,500/3,000 to provide 50 big blinds in the first level, and the late registration and single re-entry period remain open for the first two levels and the following break until approximately 4.15 p.m. local time.
Leading the field into Day 2 is two-time WSOP bracelet winner Keith Lehr with 692,000, closely followed by three-time bracelet winner Paul Volpe with 682,000. Firas Sadou sits in third place with 625,000 and a host of further big names are among the top 10 stacks such as Dario Sammartino (595,500), Ludovic Geilich (590,000), defending champion Shaun Deeb (518,500) and PLO specialist Ka Kwan Lau (492,500).
Another former champion of this event has also advanced to Day 2 in Anthony Zinno, who sits in the middle of the pack with a stack of 239,000. The 2017 champion and 2018 runner-up James Calderaro, however, won't be returning to the action as he was eliminated twice on Day 1. This also applies for such notables as Richard Gryko, Chance Kornuth, Phil Galfond and Michael Mizrachi.
The second of four tournament days is scheduled to play ten 60-minute levels with a 15-minute break every two levels and a 60-minute dinner break after the sixth level of the day at approximately 8.30 p.m. local time. It is expected that the field will be narrowed down close to the money bubble and the PokerNews live reporting team will be your one-stop shop for an exciting day of four-card poker.
