Back in 2007, Bryan Devonshire finished runner-up to Alexander Kravchenko in this very event. Both men are in today's field and looking to duplicate their success, but Devonshire isn't exactly off to a great start.
In a recent hand, the board read when Devonshire bet from the big blind and his opponent in early position called. When the completed the board on the river, Devonshire moved all in for his last 225 and his opponent called. Devonshire tabled the for a full house, which could only get half the pot as his opponent tabled a low with the .
Based on his Tweets, it appears Devonshire hasn't been running well here on Day 1:
@devochips I wish I could say that I was playing bad and that's why I am losing because I could fix that. 1425 and shellshocked.Follow @devopoker

In the last hand of Level 3, Dennis Yares limped the cutoff and a short-stacked "Downtown" Chad Brown did the same from the small blind. The big checked his option and it was three-way action to the flop.
Brown took the initiative and led out for 100, the big blind folded and Yares made the call. Brown then bet 200 on the turn, leaving himself a single green T25 chip behind, and Yares once again called. Brown's last chip went in on the river and Yares called with the for a rivered flush.
Brown took one last look at his , wished the table luck and then exited the Braisilia Room.

Five players each put in 100, including World Series of Poker bracelet winner Cory Zeidman in the big blind, to see a flop of . The small blind checked, Zeidman bet and two players made the call.
When the dealer burned and turned the , the small blind checked for a second time and Zeidman tossed out another bet. An in-between player called, the small blind folded and then both Zeidman and his opponent checked the river.
"Three jacks," Zeidman said and showed the . It was good enough to scoop the pot as his opponent showed the .

We walked into a hand where Chad Brown was all in for his last few chips, making a side pot of around 1,000 with two other opponents.
The board came , which gave Brown a six-high straight for the high, allowing him to chop the side-pot for a 525 win. Brown is still alive, but he'll need to start scooping some pots to keep up with the blinds in Level 3.
