Event #18: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em

Today we begin our second $1,000 buy-in (not including Event #3: No-Limit Hold'em Re-Entry). Last week's 1K had a field of 1,837 and ended with a stacked final table. It was this event that included the instant classic heads up battle between Matt Waxman and Eric Baldwin. Waxman came out on top winning $305,952 and his first WSOP Bracelet.
Cards are in the air at noon and we will be playing eleven levels today in the Brasilia and Pavillion Rooms. As with all $1,000 buy-ins, we expect a large field of "weekend warriors" and professionals alike, looking to make it to the money and beyond. Keep it here, on PokerNews.com, for the latest updates.

Cards are in the air. Right now the clock reads 1,569 players but expect that number to grow as registration is open through level 4.
We saw the following players on our first sweep of the Brasilia Room. Plenty more notables are expected to filter in as the day progresses.

Matt Salsberg has bought into this $1,000 No Limit Hold'em event and is looking to add to the two 2013 WSOP cashes he already has.
Salsberg is the current WPT Player of the Year after a fantastic year on the tournament circuit. Among his achievements are an outright win in the WPT Grand Prix de Paris and a seventh place finish in the WPT Venice Main Event.
Can Salsberg add a WSOP bracelet to his impressive list of poker accomplishments? Only time will tell.

Nacho Barbero has just sat down and that is bad news for anyone on his table because the Argentinian is one of the world's best poker talents.
In 2010 Barbero had a remarkable year but things have gone cold since. Will the 2013 WSOP give Barbero a boost; maybe we should call this year "Due Thousand and Thirteen!"

The infamous game of "Lodden Thinks" has been given a new spin by the British pro otherwise known as Rhys "Floppinhel" Jones.
There are hundreds of players sporting WSOP merchandise and Jones is pondering how much money the WSOp has made from it!
Doing a lodden thinks on myself at the moment of 1743 players what is the total retail value of the WSOP clothing worn by players at tablesFollow @floppinhel
Winner gets nothing. Probably a slight increase in respect from me. Maybe not. It's worth more than 25% of my action in this timb. #trustmeFollow @floppinhel
