The Hollywood Poker Open returns to the luxurious M Resort Spa Casino today with the second of two starting flight for its Season Four $2,500 Championship Event.
Thursday's first starting flight drew 273 entries, ultimately playing down to just 83 remaining with Kansas City's Frank Patti grabbing the overnight chip lead.
Through the first three seasons of this event, the average field size approached 700 entries with an average first-place prize of $340,000 and a full house is expected today.
The event allows players unlimited reentries and registration is open all the way up until the start of Day 2. Literally hundreds of qualifiers from around the country and top players here in Las Vegas for the World Series of Poker are expected to participate.
The HPO Championship event in Las Vegas has been covered on PokerNews since Season 1, when it was Ana Marquez who captured the biggest title of her poker career.

The man, the myth, the legend that is Chris Moneymaker got flopped dead by quads in a massive flip for most of his chips late in the day yesterday.
The Hollywood Poker Open Ambassador returns today with a desire for a revenge and 25,000 chips with which to exact it.
Joining him in a field that looks to be more than 50 percent qualifier at the outset is the ultimate qualifier herself.
2015 Hollywood Poker Open St. Louis Regional Main Event winner Linda Lieder qualified for the Championship today making a 2nd, 3rd, and 11th-place finishes in side events on the tour this year.

South-African player Ahem Karrim has made his way to the M Resort for the Hollywood Poker Open Championship, and he's already off to a good start.
A player raised under the gun to 250 and Karrim called on the button after which both blinds folded.
The flop brought out with two spades and the initial raiser bet 475, Karrim called.
On the turn the hit and Karrim called another 850. The river completed the board with the and now the initial raiser checked and Karrim threw out 1,475.
Karrim's bet was called and he quickly tabled his for a six-high flush. Karrim's opponent mucked and the South-African player's already up to 40,000 chips.

The field is slowly but surely swelling up and we just spotted two more top pros take their seats.
Ludovic Geilich - one of the most animated young players out there - is back for more after busting out late last night, and he looks to be happy with his table so far. Geilich burst onto the scene with a final table in EPT London when he finished fourth for $313,482, and a win in the UKIPT Marbella event for $171,790 that same year.
Earlier this year Geilich won the Wynn Classic Championship for $150,662, and at the M Resort this weekend he'll be looking to add to his $1.1 million in live tournament earnings.
Canadian pro Elliot Smith has $1.6 million in live tournament earnings, his biggest score being a third-place finish in the Aussie Millions Main Event for $497,258 back in 2009.
