Heads-up on a flop of J♦5♥4♦, Niklas Astedt bet 6,000 from the hijack before Jean-Noel Thorel moved all in from middle position. Astedt quickly called for around 20,000 more.
Niklas Astedt: A♦9♦
Jean-Noel Thorel: Q♣Q♠
Astedt needed to improve against Thorel's queens as the 3♠ turn kept Thorel in the lead. "Flush," Astedt pleaded, but he instead saw the 7♣ fall on the river to send him to the rail.
Players had already left the room for break as Stephen Chidwick and Joey Weissman stayed behind to build a pot of around 75,000 on a flop of K♥6♦5♦.
Chidwick then bet 15,000 from the button and Weissman called in the cutoff. With only Mike Watson watching among their tablemates, both players checked the 8♠ turn. The river was the 7♦ and Weissman led out for 30,000.
Chidwick quickly folded as Weissman took the pot before leaving for break.
Sam Grafton moved all in for 140,000 in the cutoff as action folded to small blind jean-Noel Thorel, who asked for a count before folding. Duco ten Haven in the big blind also tanked for a moment. "We await the verdict. The jury is out," Grafton said, flashing his cards to a PokerStars media member. Ten Haven eventually called.
Sam Grafton: J♠8♠
Duco ten Haven: A♠4♣
"You have to call. Punish the slowroller," Grafton said upon seeing ten Haven's cards. The board ran out Q♠3♣5♣Q♣A♣ and ten Haven finished with a flush to send the PokerStars Team Pro to the rail right at the start of the mystery bounty portion of the event.
Aurelien Russo raised to 16,000 on the button before Nikita Kuznetsov jammed all in for 124,000 from the small blind.
After some thinking time, Russo made the call to put his neighbor at risk.
Nikita Kuznetsov: A♦8♠
Aurelien Russo: K♠10♠
It was looking bleak for Russo on the 5♠A♣6♥ flop, but the K♥ turn brought him some outs. A second king appeared on the K♣ river, upgrading him Russo to trips and eliminating Kuznetsov.
Mike Watson raised to 18,000 in early position before Dan Djorno moved all in for 91,000 in the small blind. Artur Martirosian reshoved in the big blind and Watson folded.
Dan Djorno: A♥9♥
Artur Martirosian: A♠K♥
Djorno was dominated by Martirosian as the 5♠4♠7♥6♣10♣ board providing no relief, sending him to the rail and his white bounty chip over to Martirosian.
At the same time at another table, Alex Kulev was all in for 95,000 in the small blind, Aleksejs Ponakovs had his 156,000 in the middle from the cutoff, and Boris Kolev had both players covered and at risk in the hijack.
Alex Kulev: 7♥6♥
Aleksejs Ponakovs: A♦J♣
Boris Kolev: A♥9♠
Ponakovs hit top pair on the J♦4♣2♦ flop to take a big lead in the hand, while the 2♠ turn improved him to two pair. The river was the A♠ and Ponakovs doubled up off Kolev while claiming Kulev's bounty.
