Event #13: $1,500 No-Limit 2-7 Lowball Draw
Dia 1 Iniciado
No-limit 2-7 might not be the most popular game, but those who love it, love it deeply. Today, Event #13 gets started and, for $1,500, players can play this great game and have a chance to win a WSOP gold bracelet.
Ryan D'Angelo won the bracelet for this event last year. It was his first bracelet and he took home $92,388 after he outlasted 279 others. Before that, Christian Pham won the bracelet in 2015. He claimed to have never played a hand of no-limit 2-7 before accidentally entering the tournament.
One of the unique things about no-limit 2-7 is that players must enter the pot with a raise, so there should be plenty of action.
Today players will play 10 one-hour levels starting at 3 p.m. Late registration will be open until 6 p.m. Players will start with 7,500 and each player can reenter once.

Two years ago, British player Adam Owen final tabled this event, finishing in seventh for just under $25,000. He is one of the 95 players seated at the start of the day in this event.
It folded around to Owen in the cutoff who raised to 150 with the blinds 25/50 with a button ante of 75. The player on the button three-bet to 300 and Owen called.
Owen drew two and his opponent stood pat. Owen checked and his opponent bet 600. Owen check-raised to 2,900 and his opponent called.
The Brit turned over and spread a number one across the table.
"Damn," said his opponent, "I get dealt a pat eight and now this!" He showed for an eight-perfect.

Chance Kornuth was all in against Jason Mercier. Mercier had bet 750 and Kornuth raised all in for 8,000. Mercier eventually folded while Shaun Deeb, who had folded, was documenting the entire process.
After Mercier folded, Kornuth pulled his cards close to his chest and, with a smirk on his face, tossed them face up on the table showing what appeared to be a pair of sevens, but was apparently two pairs.
On the next hand, a new player joined the table: Idris Gencoglu. He tried to limp in early position. He was told by the dealer and the table that he isn't allowed to limp and must open for a raise, so he made it 100.
"You can't limp in this?" said Kornuth. "That's shenanigans."
After the min-raise by Gencoglu, Mercier made it 450 to go. Deeb and Gencoglu both called.
Each player drew one and then checked. Deeb threw out an ace to show his highest card and Gencoglu turned over . Mercier mucked.

A few minutes ago, we saw Eric Wasserson open blind on blind and the small blind called. He stood pat and his opponent drew two. He bet and his opponent folded, and Wasserson laughed as he turned over a number one and took down the pot.
A while later, Wasserson was seen to open blind from under the gun. He got two callers and action was on Jameson Painter.
"If you don't raise..." said Wasserson, and Painter three-bet to 600. Wasserson looked at his cards and then moved all in for over 3,000.
The other players in the hand folded and Wasserson took down the pot.
