David Miscikowski (6,085,000) nabbed the title of chip leader from Matt Berkey (5,430,000) in the last level of play before chips were bagged for the night. Rounding out the top five were Thomas MacDonald (3,935,000), Sebastien Aube (3,100,000) and Nicholas Vayssieres (3,100,000).

With three former bracelet winners and many accomplished players still in, Day 3 will be an action-packed day as the remaining 22 contenders battle it out for the bracelet and the lion's share of the prize pool.

Play resumed in Level 16 today and shortly into Level 17, hand-for-hand play began with 208 players to determine the bubble with 205 spots being paid. On the very first hand, three different tables had knockouts. With those three immediately gone, the remaining players were in the money and there was a loud cheer knowing they had made it.

The field slimmed down quickly afterwards with many notables busting out and taking home a piece of the pot. Upeshka De Silva ($4,009), Scott Seiver ($4,009), David Peters ($4,009), Shankar Pillai ($5,011), Phil Laak ($5,209), Chance Kornuth ($6,174), Joe Cada ($6,823), Martin Jacobson ($7,654), Dominik Panka ($11,785) and Cary Katz ($13,999) were just a few of the many notables that cashed throughout the day.

The final players will resume at 2:00 p.m. and play until a champion is crowned. Stay tuned to PokerNews for live reports on all of the action throughout the day.

Marcos Exterkotter Eliminated in 23rd Place ($16,860)

Nível 25 : Blinds 25,000/50,000, 50,000 ante
Marcos Exterkotter
Marcos Exterkotter

Marcos Exterkotter had a rollercoaster of a few hands, first being left short by Axel Hallay after the Frenchman's {8-Hearts}{7-Diamonds} outflopped his {a-Spades}{k-Spades}. The flop was {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{7-Clubs} and that's where the money piled in. Hallay held on the {9-Hearts}{6-Clubs} runout to leave Exterkotter with 45,000.

He then found an immediate double with his {k-Clubs}{j-Spades} against the {7-Spades}{7-Clubs} of Ran Koller. Exterkotter paired his jack on the turn to give him some home.

The following hand he jammed for 185,000 before Dave Stefanski rejammed from the small blind. Nenad Dukic thought about calling his stack off in the big blind but folded.

Marcos Exterkotter: {10-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}
Dave Stefanski: {k-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds}

Stefanksi's king-high remained best as the board ran out with the {a-Spades}{5-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}{q-Diamonds}.

PokerNews caught the tail end of this hand as the board was being scooped up and one of the players relayed some information to us.

Nikita Kuznetsov: {8-}{8-}
Matt Berkey: {a-}{a-}

On the board came an {a-Diamonds}{9-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Spades}{3-} and Berkey's aces hitting a set was more than enough to send Kuznetcov out of the tournament in twenty sixth place.

Panka's River Jam Backfires

Nível 23 : Blinds 15,000/30,000, 30,000 ante
Dominik Panka
Dominik Panka

As the players went on break, one hand was still playing out. Dominik Panka opened from under the gun and was called by Nicolas Vayssieres in the big blind. Vayssieres check-raised to 140,000 after Panka bet 40,000 on the {q-Spades}{7-Spades}{3-Diamonds} flop. Panka decided to call.

Vayssieres continued for 145,000 on the {7-Clubs} turn and again Panka called.

On the {2-Spades} river sparks ignited after the Frenchman fired for 320,000. Not content with the bet, Panka moved his stack in for 1,300,000 and was snap-called by his opponent. Panka could only show ace-high with his {a-Spades}{j-Hearts} while Vayssieres had the {q-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} for a set. The victor had the superior stack and sent Panka to the rail.

Battle of the Blinds

David Miscikowski
David Miscikowski

Abhinav Iyer in the small blind called to see the flop and David Miscikowski checked his option. The flop came down {j-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{4-Clubs} and Iyer checked to Miscikowski who bet 25,000 which Iyer then called.

The {6-Diamonds} turn had Iyer check-calling an 80,000 continuation-bet from Miscikowski.

A {7-Diamonds} fell on the river and Iyer once again checked. Miscikowski bet 250,000 and Iyer went into the tank for a while before tossing in a few red chips to indicate he was calling. Miscikowski flipped over {6-Clubs}{8-Spades} for trip sixes on the turn and that was good to take down the pot as Iyer tossed his cards into the muck.
