In one of the first hands of the day the 2019 $888 - No-Limit Hold'em Crazy Eights champion, Rick Alvarado called PokerNews over saying, "Hey PokerNews, you got to check out this flop of the day!"

The board read {7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{7-Spades} and there couldn't have been a more fitting flop to kick off the $777 Lucky 7's event. Justin Bassett, in the cutoff stayed on trend by betting 700 which Alvarado called.

On the {6-Spades} turn Bassett fired out 1,200, Alvarado folded and Bassett took down the pot for an early start to building his stack.

Alvarado Gets One

Nível 1 : Blinds 100/200, 200 ante

Rick Alvarado raised on the button to 700 and received a call from the small blind and the cutoff. The flop came down {q-Spades}{10-Clubs}{4-Hearts} and it was checked to Alvarado who bet 1,600. The small blind called and the cutoff folded.

The {q-Hearts} hit the turn and both players checked.

A {j-Diamonds} showed up on the river and the small blind bet 1,100 which Alvarado called and cards were up for showdown. The small blind had {k-Clubs}{10-Diamonds} for two pair, queens and tens and Alvarado showed {k-Hearts}{j-Clubs}, missing a straight draw but hitting a higher two pair on the river, queens and jacks, which was good to take down the pot.
