A Couple of Runners-Up

Nível 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

As the Amazon Room adorns the Main Event champions from years past, there are those who came oh so close to having their banner hanging. Two of those who can relate are seated today on Day 1c.

The 2013 second place finisher, Jay Farber was seen taking in a pot early on the day and a few tables away, 2018 runner-up Tony Miles is also seated and ready to charge toward another potential deep run in 2021.

First Pot for Wright

Nível 1 : 100/200, 200 ante

Douglas Tascarella opened in early position to 700. James Taylor and the winner of Event #50: $600 No-Limit Hold'em/Pot-Limit Omaha, Darrin Wright called from the blinds.

The flop came {3-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{k-Spades} and Taylor checked to Wright who bet 300. Both Tascarella and Taylor called and action checked through on the {4-Spades} turn.

Taylor checked the {6-Hearts} river before Wright bet 1,600 which was enough to get a fold from both of his opponents.

With about 6,000 in the middle on the {k-Diamonds}{4-Diamonds}{3-Diamonds} flop, James Romero bet of 3,200. His opponent raised to 10,000 and Romero called.

The {5-Clubs} turn and the {q-Clubs} the river checked through. Romero tabled {a-Clubs}{k-Clubs} for a pair of kings before his opponent mucked his hand.
