American Nick "rdcrsn" Maimone registered at GGPoker under a Canadian flag bested Brazil's Diego "JaxTeller" Bittar in heads-up play in the WSOP Event #69: $1,500 Marathon No Limit Hold'em to win the $302,472 top prize, an added WSOP Europe package valued at $15,000, and his first WSOP gold bracelet.

The tournament truly lived up to its name with the one-day event taking more than 13 1/2 hours from start to finish. Despite no guarantee, the turnout was huge with 1,438 entrants generating a massive $2,049,150 prize pool.

Maimone is no stranger to success despite never finding WSOP gold before today. In addition to his more than $2.1 million in live cashes according to The Hendon Mob, Maimone also was once ranked sixth in the world in online poker tournaments at PocketFives.

The win catapults Maimone over the $1 million mark in WSOP cashes with his best finish coming more than a decade ago when he took 15th place in the 2009 WSOP Main Event for $633,022.

The Days Action

After the four-hour late registration window was open, the field ballooned to 1,438 entrants with 504 remaining in their seats.

About 90 minutes later, the top 206 players were in the money for at least a min-cash of $3,243 after Roland "Gwriden" Rokita and Aleksei "JokerFace" Barkov hit the rail during the last hand of bubble action.

Six-time WSOP bracelet winner and GGPoker Ambassador Daniel Negreanu was among the players to make a deep run eventually hitting the rail in 86th place for $4,370 when his ace-queen couldn't get there against his opponent's big slick.

Ermo "PublicEnemy7" Kosk was cruising away and had the lead most of the time from 50 players left until the nine-max final table began. The final table began five hours after the money was reached once Kosk's jacks won a flip against Giovanni "harcos85" Petroni to send him to the rail in 10th place for $17,555.

Kosk had the lead to start the final table with Maimone kicking things off in sixth place. The lead shifted around many times between most of the players at the final table.

Bert "ILOVECATS" Stevens, Erik "FortySixand2" Lemarquand, and Murilo "RaiseBluff" Nascimento all hit the rail in succession to start the final table.

Kosk went from chip leader to crumbs after losing a pair of hands to Giovani "Mandjocka" Torre before Maimone sent him to the rail in sixth place.

Sebastian "Mustlaaaveit" Sikorski and Nikolay "PROMsGT" Motsenko both hit the rail within hands of each other to leave the action at three-handed play.

The lead bounced around between all three players before Torre found himself short after he jammed his queen-jack into Maimone's big slick. Maimone took the rest of Torre's stack when his queen-six got there against his opponent's king-nine.

Maimone began heads up play against Bittar with a negligible chip lead. The lead was extended to a 6:1 chip advantage before Bittar trimmed it to an approximate 3:1 chip advantage.

In the final hand of the tournament, Bittar limped from the button with ace-five before he called off for more than 20 big blinds after Maimone with king-eight. A king hit the board and Bittar had to settle for the handsome $228,212 top prize. Meanwhile congrats to Nick "rdcrsn" Maimone for winning his first WSOP gold bracelet.

This wraps up our coverage of the 2020 WSOP Marathon at GGPoker. Stay tuned at PokerNews as we continue to cover the WSOP until its conclusion.

Ermo "PublicEnemy7" Kosk Eliminated in 6th Place ($63,295)

Nível 30 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante

Ermo "PublicEnemy7" Kosk was in the lead much of the way from when there were 50 players left until recently.

Kosk was short on chips and got his last four big blinds in from the small blind with {q-Hearts}{7-Clubs} only to run into the {k-Spades}{k-Hearts} held by Nick "rdcrsn" Maimone.

The {q-Spades}{j-Spades}{5-Diamonds} flop gave some hope to Kosk but no more connections were made the rest of the way with the {3-Spades} coming on the turn followed by the {6-Hearts} on the river.

Kosk collected the sixth-place prize of $63,295 and the final five players are each guaranteed a payout of at least $87,219.

Nível 30 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante

Ermo "PublicEnemy7" Kosk opened to 500,000 from under the gun before Giovani "Mandjocka" Torre made it 1,440,000 from the button.

Kosk four-bet jammed for more than the 5,006,000 his opponent had behind and Torre called.

Giovani "Mandjocka" Torre: {a-Spades}{a-Diamonds}
Ermo "PublicEnemy7" Kosk: {10-Spades}{10-Hearts}

The {3-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{4-Spades}{7-Clubs}{j-Clubs} ran out on the board and Torre took the lead for the first time at the final table while leaving Kosk with just a few big blinds.

Murilo "RaiseBluff" Nascimento Eliminated in 7th Place ($45,933)

Nível 30 : 100,000/200,000, 25,000 ante

It was a bit of bad luck for the short-stacked Murilo "RaiseBluff" Nascimento to eliminate the Brazilian in seventh place for $45,933.

He three-bet jammed for 1,725,000 and was called by Ermo "PublicEnemy7" Kosk who opened the hand.

Murilo "RaiseBluff" Nascimento: {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}
Ermo "PublicEnemy7" Kosk: {10-Hearts}{8-Hearts}

Nascimento hit a set on the {q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}{j-Hearts} board but in many ways it was a better flop for Kosk who now had both straight and flush draws.

The {a-Clubs} came on the turn to give Kosk a straight and Nascimento was unable to improve to a full house or quads after the {7-Spades} completed the board on the river.

Nível 29 : 80,000/160,000, 20,000 ante

Despite starting the final table in second place, Erik "FortySixand2" Lemarquand was the second player eliminated at the final table.

The hand began when Nikolay "PROMsGT" Motsenko opened to 400,000 from the small blind. Lemarquand called leading to the {5-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Hearts} coming on the flop.

Motsenko bet 316,000. Lemarquand raised to 1,008,000 and Motsenko jammed. Lemarquand called off for 2,554,698 and players turned over their cards.

Erik "FortySixand2" Lemarquand: {10-Spades}{9-Spades}
Nikolay "PROMsGT" Motsenko: {k-Spades}{k-Hearts}

Lemarquand had top pair but needed help. Neither the {a-Hearts} on the turn nor the {6-Clubs} on the river were of any assistance and Lemarchand was ousted in eighth place for $33,334.
