Big Slick Can't Connect for Cajelais, Eliminated by Li

Nível 14 : 1,500/3,000, 3,000 ante
Erik Cajelais
Erik Cajelais

Erik Cajelais opened for 7,000 from late position and action folded to Fred Li who three-bet to 25,000 from the big blind. Cajelais jammed for roughly 180,000 and was called by Li.

Erik Cajelais: {a-Hearts}{k-Hearts}
Fred Li: {q-Hearts}{q-Clubs}

It was a classic coinflip but the {7-Clubs}{5-Clubs}{4-Diamonds} flop was no help for Cajelais.

The turn brought the {j-Clubs} and Cajelais needed to pair his ace or king on the river to stay alive.

Unfortunately, the river fell the {8-Spades} and Li eliminated Cajelais from the tournament.

Sexton Eliminates Opponent With Ladies

Nível 13 : 1,000/2,500, 2,500 ante
Mike Sexton
Mike Sexton

Mike Sexton opened with a raise from early position and the small blind player jammed for his remaining stack, Sexton called.

Mike Sexton: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}
Opponent: {a-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds}

Sexton was ahead with his pocket pair and the {2-Spades}{j-Clubs}{5-Hearts} rainbow flop was a great flop from him with no diamond on the board.

The turn paired the board with the {2-Hearts} and Sexton just needed to dodge an ace.

Sexton indeed dodged an ace as the river fell the {9-Spades} and he eliminated his opponent.

A player from early position opened for 3,200. Ben Yu three-bet to 9,000 from middle position and the big blind player called. Action was back to the initial raiser who four-bet to 33,200 and Ben Yu jammed for 73,900. After receiving the confirmed amount, the big blind player folded and the initial raiser called for less.

Ben Yu: {k-Hearts}{k-Clubs}
Opponent: {10-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

Yu had his opponent crushed and nothing changed after the board ran out {a-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{7-Hearts}{j-Spades}{5-Spades} and Yu eliminated his opponent from the tournament.

Walking through the Salut To Warriors event, PokerNews has spotted 1989 bracelet winner Mike Sexton.

After winning the WSOP Tournament of Champions in 2006 for $1,000,000, Mike Sexton, donated half of his earnings to any charity's to his desire. Two organizations he donated too are two of his favorites, the Paralyzed Veterans of America and Wounded Warriors, both received $100,000 each from Sexton.

“I love that the WSOP is supporting those who have served, and are raising money for veteran organizations,” Sexton stated, “To me, a former military man, this is the highlight addition of the 50th WSOP.”

“I would certainly hope the Salute to Warriors tournament at the WSOP will not only be popular, but become an annual fixture,” he says. “I believe nearly all players would like to support those in the armed forces and the military charities that will benefit from this event.”
