Lynskey, Reategui Among Big Stacks at the End of Day 2d

Day 2d has come to a close and with 2,925,000 in chips, Zachary Ackley has claimed the overnight chip lead. Dennis Brinn is hot on his heels with 2,745,000 in chips, and Rick Trigg (2,695,000), Wilburn Hutcheson (2,620,000), Albert Bragg (2,500,000), and David Frenkel (2,450,000) round out the top 6. Bracelet winner Anthony Reategui also found himself high up the leaderboard with 2,355,000 in chips.

The day started with 2,110 returning players; by the time the last hand was completed that number was whittled down to 553 players, who will be joining the remaining players that survived the other three flights. A total of 1,597 out of the record-breaking field of 28,371 players have made it to the third day.

With 1,369 players making the money, James Ray managed to earn a cash without playing a single hand all day having never returned for Day 2d. By the time play was on the money bubble, Ray's stack had dwindled down to just 4,000, which was just enough to scrape into the money when the bubble burst.

There were many notables in the flight, including last year's Main Event final tablist Alex Lynskey (2,000,000), Eric "BarstoolNate" Nathan (1,945,000), James Calderaro (1,635,000), Joe Serock (1,550,000), Jeff Madsen (1,275,000), Alex Foxen (1,050,000), Harry Arutyunyan (930,000), Ravi Raghavan (905,000), Neil Blumenfield (735,000), Loni Harwood (635,000), and Eddy Sabat (355,000), all of whom will be returning for Day 3. Others such as Kelly Minkin and Massoud Eskandari cashed but will not be returning, with Minkin busting late in the day.

Day 3 will off on Wednesday, June 5, at 11 a.m. local time with the field finally joining for the first time, and the PokerNews team will be there from the first hand to the last, bringing you all the updates.

"My Dad's Name is Jack and My Mom Called Him Ace"

Jeff Yarchever (at another WSOP event)

Jeff Yarchever is getting the credits today for being the one to eliminate the bubble boy. The player had moved in with {4-}{4-} from middle position and Yarchever called him with {a-}{j-} from the big blind. A jack came in the window to give Yarchever the elimination and burst the bubble on Day 1d.

"Tell you what. My dad's name is Jack and my mom called him Ace," he quipped about holding ace-jack. "This is also my dealer, I'm from LA," he said, pointing at the one tossing him the cards.

"I had 8,000 left on Day 1 after losing kings versus aces. I then got it in with ace-king, hit a king on the river and never looked back," Yarchever continued, who now sits pretty at 700,000 after breaking the bubble.

Kelly Making Some Great Deals on the Bubble

Nível 17 : 6,000/12,000, 12,000 ante
Matt Kelly (at another WSOP event)
Matt Kelly (at another WSOP event)

After an early position raise to 25,000 from Ryan McBride and a late position call, it was Matt Kelly who shoved his final 75,000 in from the big blind. McBride four-bet to 125,000 to get the hand heads-up.

While they had to wait until all tables during hand-for-hand were completed, Kelly got involved in some side betting with his table mates. McBride proposed "twenty bucks to the loser?" which Kelly quickly accepted.

Man Pham got the player at risk an even better deal shortly after. Kelly already had revealed he was holding kings, while McBride slipped that he had sevens. Pham then offered $500 to Kelly's $200 in case the sevens would win. It was a great deal for the man from Fort Worth, Texas, who snap-accepted the favorable odds.

After all tables were done, the cards went on their backs.

Matt Kelly: {k-Hearts}{k-Spades}
Ryan McBride: {7-Clubs}{7-Hearts}

The board ran out {5-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{a-Hearts}{4-Clubs} and Kelly was briefly scared of a possible straight before seeing he had the best of it. Since the kings held up, he reached into his pocket to pay Pham the $200, and McBride the $20.

"You know what? That's a great deal because I doubled up," Kelly stated.
