Welcome to Day 1e of Event #7: $565 COLOSSUS No-Limit Hold’em with play set to get underway at 10 a.m. in the Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino.
This event has drawn in the big crowds over the past two years and has shown no signs of slowing down this time around with 7,014 entrants over the first four starting flights. So far just 279 players from that total having booked their spot for Day 2 on Tuesday, June 5.
Today will see the final two starting flights come to their conclusion and the field will be set for tomorrow's Day 2. Players will begin with 5,000 in chips with the blinds starting at 25/50. Eighteen 30-minute levels will be played out today with the final flight Day 1f starting at 5 p.m. The late registration and re-entry period will be open for the first eight levels. As with the previous Day 1's structure players who survive long enough will make the money during play today.
Yesterday, Florian Duta came through as the Day 1c chip leader with a stack of 523,000 and Philip Alberquerque was top of the chip counts in the later Day 1d bagging 503,000. They join Christopher Haydt (419,000) and Tony Parille (607,0000) as flight chip leaders.
Other notable names to progress yesterday include 2009 WSOP Main Event Champion Joe Cada (88,000), Alex Foxen (268,000), Kenny Hallaert (157,000), Lauren Roberts (54,000) and 10-time WSOP bracelet winner Phil Ivey (63,000).

Ari Engel just sat down in the final vacant seat at Red #38 and became a tablemate of Scotland's Thomas Ward.
Just now Ward opened the action to 125 from the cutoff and was called by the player on the button. Ward then saw his continuation bet of 100 raised to 225 on the flop and he made the call.
Both players checked the turn before Ward led for 300 on the
river and saw his opponent quickly fold.

The penultimate starting flight has entered its second level and entries have risen to 2,156 across the Brasilia and Amazon rooms.
The players in Las Vegas are taking one of their final opportunities to play in this year's Colossus event as the numbers keep on growing in Level 2.
U.K. professional player Tom "jabracada" Hall is one of the recent few to take a seat as the field had grown to 2,330, surpassing the previous high that came during Day 1a when 2,024 players took to the tables. With six levels left of late registration, there is still plenty of time for the field to further increase.
