Event #6: $365 GIANT No-Limit Hold'em

Dia 1a Iniciado

The GIANT is Back, and it Promises to Be Bigger Than Ever!

From Jack and the Beanstalk, to James and his Peach. From San Francisco to Andre, they all have something in common, and that is GIANT!

It's back! Last year the GIANT was a new event on the World Series of Poker schedule, but just under a year since inaugural champion Dieter Dechant won $291,906, many more players will be hoping to start their own fairytale run when play gets underway at 7 p.m. local time this evening.

Dechant wasn't the only player who turned the $365 buy-in into a big score, with the top four players all taking home six-figure payouts after a field of 10,015 created a prizepool of just over $3m.

This year's event features five weekly Friday Day 1s (1st June, 8th June, 15th June, 22nd June & 29th June) before the Day 1 flights are combined on Saturday 30th June, and play down to a winner on Sunday 1st July.

Players who enter the GIANT will receive 25,000 in chips. On each Day 1, they will play 21 levels (or down to 10 players, whichever is first). The blinds are 20-minutes long on Day 1, and 40 minutes on Day 2/3. There will be 20-minute breaks every six levels on Day 1.

There are unlimited re-entry, with late registration open for nine levels (~10:20p.m.).

The structure of these Day 1s is slightly different to other tournaments at this year's WSOP. Players will play into the money in each flight. The remaining prize money not awarded then gets carried over to Day 2.

Players may elect to forfeit their stack if they choose and re-enter another flight. However, once a player bags chips at the end of Day 1, they are no longer eligible to participate in additional starting flights.

Players may cash in multiple flights if they reach the top 15% of any flight, but do not bag.

Is This a Step into the Future for Pokers Real Grinders? 14,000 Poker Players Unite!

Is the Real Grinders lounge a look into the future for the real grinders of Poker? Some of Pokers biggest names can be found in the lounge as you step inside. They all have the same ideas, relax, chat and rejuvenate. During the WSOP 2018 over fourteen thousand Real Grinders members could walk through the lounge where they will rest, eat & drink on their poker break. We found Jeff Madsen and Dan Heimiller hanging out there today between events. Real Grinders very own Raymond Davis was also there with quite a number of Real Grinders members lounging.
