Welcome to Day 3 of PokerNews' coverage of Event #40: $10,000 Heads-Up No-Limit Hold'em Championship. After seven rounds of matches, only two players remain from the starting field of 136 entrants. What's on the line? A coveted World Series of Poker gold bracelet. Each player is guaranteed $207,347 as of now, but going along with a bracelet is a first-place prize of $335,553.

Both Sam Stein and Davide Suriano beat stiff competition to reach the championship match. Here is a look at their respective roads to get here:

For Stein, it's a chance to capture his second bracelet. His first came in 2011, winning a $3,000 Pot-Limit Omaha event. Meanwhile, this marks Suriano's fourth-career WSOP cash and first above four figures. Suriano is set to blow that number out of the water with today's result.

Hand #1: Sam Stein raised to 75,000 on the button and Davide Suriano defended his big blind.

The flop came down {K-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{3-Diamonds}, Suriano checked and Stein continued for 75,000. Suriano check-raised to 175,000, resulting in a fold Stein.

Hand #2: Davide Suriano limped the button, Sam Stein checked his option and the flop fell {4-Diamonds}{4-Hearts}{2-Spades}. Stein check-called 30,000 from Suriano to see the {J-Clubs} turn. Stein checked to Suriano again who bet 175,000. Stein folded, giving Suriano the pot.

Hand #3: Sam Stein raised to 75,000 on the button and took down the pot.

Hand #4: Davide Suriano raised to 75,000 on the button, Sam Stein called from the big blind and the flop fell {3-Clubs}{K-Spades}{10-Spades}. Stein check-folded to a bet of 75,000 from Suriano.

Hand #5: Sam Stein raised to 75,000 on the button and Davide Suriano three-bet to 250,000 from the big blind. Stein folded and Suriano collected the pot.

Hand #6: Davide Suriano raised to 75,000 from the button and Sam Stein called from the big blind. The flop came down {8-Spades}{10-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} and both players checked. The turn was the {6-Diamonds} and Stein checked again after which Suriano bet 50,000. Stein check-raised to 200,000 and Suriano let go of his hand.

Hand #7: Sam Stein raised to 75,000 from the button and Davide Suriano called. The flop brought out {6-Hearts}{K-Hearts}{8-Diamonds} and Suriano checked to Stein who bet 100,000. Suriano looked back down at his cards and folded.

Hand #8: Davide Suriano raised to 75,000 from the button and Sam Stein called. The flop brought out {10-Diamonds}{A-Clubs}{9-Diamonds} and Stein checked right away. Suriano checked behind and the turn was the {K-Clubs}. Stein checked and Suriano checked behind. On the river the {Q-Clubs} hit and Stein checked again to Suriano who opted to bet 150,000. Stein called and Suriano showed {8-Clubs}{5-Clubs} for a flush to take down this pot.

Hand #9: Sam Stein raised to 75,000 from the button and picked up the blinds.

Hand #10: Davide Suriano raised to 75,000 from the button and picked up the blinds.

Hand #12: Davide Suriano limped the button, Davide Suriano checked his option and they proceeded to check to the turn of a {Q-Clubs}{Q-Hearts}{6-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} board. Stein bet 40,000, Suriano called and the {7-Diamonds} river completed the board. Stein bet 75,000, Suriano folded and Stein collected the pot.

Hand #13: Davide Suriano received a walk in the big blind.
