Event #26: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em
Dia 1 Iniciado
The third week of the 45th annual World Series of Poker, now celebrating 10 years at the Rio All-Suite Hotel and Casino, has begun and today sees Event #26: $1,500 No-Limit Hold'em get underway shortly.
This marks the second full-ring, $1,500 buy-in no-limit hold'em event of the 2014 WSOP (outside of the Millionaire Maker), with a field of 2,086 taking part in the first one, Event #19, won by Ted Gillis of Houston, Texas.
We are expecting another huge field today as more and more players arrive in Vegas and those who haven’t yet cashed will no doubt be jumping in, too, trying to put that right. We are expecting a strong showing from the well-known pros as well as those desperate to burst on to the scene and write their names into the history books of poker.
Cards are in the air at 12 noon for 11 levels of play today. Come back then as the PokerNews Live Reporting Team will bring you all the action over the next three days as we find out together who the next bracelet winner will be.

Phil Laak just got caught bluffing an opponent and was keen to muck his cards sight unseen. The rules are, though, that cards must be shown if a bet is called. Laak said he much preferred the cash game rules where you can muck and save yourself the embarrassment of turning up your cards.
That didn’t stop him getting involved in the next hand, however, where he led into two opponents on a flop with a bet of 175 and saw a small pot pushed his way to repair a bit of the damage.
“Come on put it in. Put something in there,” he told the folders.

Annette Obrestad is well known as an active and aggressive player and it looked like she had accumulated a few early chips before meeting some resistance in a hand that recently went down.
Obrestad and her opponent in the small blind had reached the turn with the board reading . It checked to Obrestad who bet 300, then her opponent check-raised to 900 and Obrestad called. The river then saw a leading bet from the player in the small blind for 1,000, and Obrestad gave it up.

We caught the action with a completed board of and Barry Greenstein all in for 3,725 into a pot of about the same size. His heads-up opponent had him covered and was contemplating.
"Show me if I fold," asked his opponent. Greenstein shrugged and said "I don't know," wryly. His opponent would find a fold and after Greenstein took the pot he pushed his cards forward face down.
