Jouhkimainen Takes Durnegger Out; More Players Join

Nível 1 : 5,000/10,000, 5,000 ante
Joni Jouhkimainen
Joni Jouhkimainen

Markus Durnegger was all-in for 9,000 in the big blind before the hand even started. Chi Zhang raised to 20,000 from mid-position. Joni Jouhkimainen three-bet to 75,000 from the cutoff, everyone else folded including Zhang.

Markus Durnegger: {K-Spades}{10-Clubs}
Joni Joukhimainen: {A-Diamonds}{J-Diamonds}

The board ran out {8-Hearts}{j-Spades}{4-Clubs}{q-Clubs}{3-Spades} even though Durnegger got a straight draw on the turn, it never materialized and he was eliminated. However, he was still kind enough to tell us how he had lost most of his stack in the hand before:

"I had ace-jack in the under-the-gun position and I raised to 20k. The next two players to act called. Jouhkimainen, on the button, also called. The flop came jack-eight-deuce, rainbow. I continued with a bet of 40k with top pair. They all called. The turn was a five with a flush draw. I now bet 120k. Two folded, Jouhkimainen called. The river was a four. I checked, he raised to 700k and I called. He had deuces so hit a set on the flop. I had 709k so had 9k left."
